Obituary: William Bill Connors, 91, of Marquette, passed away evening, 4, 2015, at his home, surrounded by family and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice. Bill was born on 3, 1923 in Marquette, a son of the late Edward J. and Eva (Laramie) Connors and was a lifelong Marquette resident. Bill graduated from Bishop Baraga High School in 1941 and then proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II. On May 17, 1947, he married the former Ethel Todd at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette. He worked as an accountant all of his working years. Bill was a lifetime member of the Marquette Golf Club, a member of Msgr. Nolan B. McKevitt Knights of Columbus Council #689 and American Legion Post #44. Golfing was his passion, but he also downhill skied every winter until the age of 80. Bill attended St. Peter Cathedral. Bill is survived by four children, Diane (Jim) Parker of Leesburg, TX, Jan (Bill) LaValley, Patti Connors, both of Marquette; and Mark Connors of Santa Cruz, CA; three grandchildren, John (Carrie) Parker, Jeff (Caitlin) LaValley and Ross Connors; three great grandchildren, Jackson and Andrew Parker and Liam Connors. Preceding him in death besides his parents was his beloved wife, Ethel, on 19, 2011; a son, Jim Connors; also one brother and three sisters. A Mass will be held at St. Peter Cathedral on at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Marty Flynn officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the cathedral one hour prior to the Mass on . Obituary: Timothy Glennon Connors, age 54, died suddenly , May 23, 2015 from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident in Rochester, Michigan. Timothy was born 5, 1961 at St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Robert Glennon Connors and the late Virginia Lee (nee: Landgraf) Connors. Tim, as everyone knew him, was raised on the eastside, primarily in Grosse Pointe. He attended Grosse Pointe South High School and later moved over to Grosse Pointe North High School where he graduated with the class of 1979. Tim matriculated on to the University of Michigan, but eventually found his way at Michigan State University as a true Spartan. Following his education, Tim met the love of his life, Noreen Mahoney, the future Mrs. Connors. The two were young and grew together to forge an inseparable bond of love, with Tim adoring his wife everyday. The marriage would also create Tims greatest pride and joy... his three sons. Although Tim was very busy with General Motors, he always found the time to travel and create memories with his sons and wife. There were many ski trips, and the annual Northern Michigan trip which included fishing and hunting for frogs. While at Michigan State, Tim studied engineering and graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1983 and later furthered his studies towards his Masters Degree. Tim went to work for General Motors where he was placed in many different positions and many different locales including, Detroit, Lansing, Indiana, Mexico, Germany, as well as many stops in between. However, the Connors family found Rochester, Michigan the place to be their home base. Tim could never sit still, he was the consummate task master. Tim was always working around the house, yard, or pool. When Tim was not completing tasks, he had many hobbies which included golfing, bicycling, skiing, riding his motorcycle, and recently playing tennis with his wife. Fitness was also important to Tim as he recently competed in a mini-triathlon and was working toward another. He had other passions too, Spartan football, Red Wings hockey, and his salt water fish tank. The Connors home always seemed to be the entertainment hub for family and friends - Noreen and Tim made the best duo for entertaining. Noreen always made sure all the food was just right and plentiful, and Tim ensured that everyone had a full drink and was enjoying themselves. Also, the music had to be just right for the event... if it were Tim, it had to be classic Rock n Roll from his iPod playlist. Family was the paramount focus of Tims life... he made sure his sons understood the importance of family and protecting your loved ones. Tim taught his sons the value of love through hard work and discipline, and that anything was possible if you put your mind to it. He also instilled the value of a firm Catholic, Christian upbringing. Tims faith was a very important guiding element in his life. Tims sons were always learning from their father and much was learned on the many exotic trips that included Turkey, Russia, Egypt, Sweden, France, Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Poland, the Czech Republic, London, as well as living in Mexico and Germany. Tims second family was General Motors; he was ever so proud of the company and all that it afforded him over the many years he spent working there. Tim attained the position as Chief Engineer of Manufacturing, a title that could never fully explain all that Tim gave to GM. His lists of titles transitioned many times through the years, however his co-workers would define Tim as a true and fair leader. He completed several Executive Leadership programs with GM, however he just loved working for the company, building great cars and the best trucks. Additionally, if you were a friend and did not drive a GM vehicle, Tim was going to do his best to get you into one of his vehicles. Tim was the beloved husband of Noreen (nee: Mahoney) Connors, and is the cherished father of Michael, Matthew, and Ryan Connors. He is survived by his siblings, Joseph (Janet) Connors, Catherine Gotfredson, Michael (Cindy) Connors, and Brian (Elizabeth) Connors. Tim was the dear son in-law of Sharon (Jack) Wilson and is further survived by many loving family members and friends. Visitation for Timothy Connors will be May 29th, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons , 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren, Michigan. Mr. Connors will lie in state 11:30am at St. Andrew Catholic Church until the time of the Mass at 12 Noon. Celebrating the Liturgy will be Monsignor Michael Hrydziuszko. Interment will be in Guardian Angel , Oakland Township, Michigan. Memorial donations are appreciated to the Leader Dogs for the Blind (www.leaderdog.org), for the support of others and Tims love of animals... especially his cherished Golden Retrievers (see link to left). Obituary: Jessie Mae Connors, age 83 of Warren, died , 6, 2017 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb in Warren. She was born 13, 1933 in Detroit, daughter of the late Harry and the late Edna (nee: Edgerton) Muir. As depicted in the accompanying photo of Jessie, she shared a warm and extraordinary relationship with the love of her life, John, until the two were separated by his passing. Together, they built upon the comforts of home, raised two beautiful daughters, and grew deeper in love as their journey through life as husband & wife made its impact upon their hearts and touched a multitude of lives along the way. Along with maintaining her role as Mom and homemaker, Jessie also worked outside of the home as a housekeeper in the hospitality industry,…more specifically, the Holiday Inn on Van Dyke in Warren. For the many patrons who occasioned the facility during her employment years, that smiling and accommodating personality they passed in the hallway may very well have been their friendly housekeeper, Jessie Mae. Jessie took great pride in keeping everything spic & span, and providing a clean and accommodating environment for the many folks who called her Holiday Inn their temporary home,…and did it all with excellence in service. Yet when Jessie was not at work, her hands were never idle. She enjoyed a host of varied pastimes to keep herself busy, one of which was through the artistry of crocheting. With an eye for the creative, Jessie weaved together some incredible pieces over the years and was always eager to share the fruits of her talents with others. She was also known for possessing quite the green thumb and spent countless, painstaking hours pouring her own brand of tender-loving-care into her plants and gardening pleasures. Both provided Jessie the ability of seeing the wonderful results of her skillful outpourings, as well as for the eyes of all who shared them with her. Some of her other pleasures included feeding her hunger for music, and putting some of that music appreciation to work through her love of dancing. Whether she was simply layin back and soaking up the tunes she so enjoyed,…or swaying to the same while cutting-a-rug on the dance floor, there was no doubt that music held a precious and entertaining aspect to Jessies life. From more of her charitable heart came the many hours Jessie spent volunteering at the North Ridge Church in Plymouth, Michigan. Jessie possessed a deep and abiding faith, the kind of faith that worked itself out through the heart of a servant she was given by God. Giving to others brought her immense joy, and just knowing that others were being blessed was Gods gift to her. Yet for as much as she was guided by her faith, many will also remember what a fun-loving and gregarious kind of gal she could be. Known affectionately as a modern-day Lucille Ball, Jessie was quite the jokester who loved making others laugh. She possessed quite a unique and genuine sense of humor that was both welcomed as it was refreshing. You couldn be in her company for very long before your funny bone was being tickled. It was a wonderful trait that attracted people to Jessie and made her quite special. But of all that brought her joy and pleasure, nothing could match the love and care she held and shared with her family, close friends,…and especially her precious grandchildren. All were cherished beyond expression, and each provided their own touch upon Jessies heart. Wonderful memories were made throughout the years, and her legacy of love is bound to extend those touches with each reflection embraced. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Jessie was the beloved wife of the late John Connors. Dearest mother of Debbie Stewart and Kelly Smith. Loving grandmother of Brandon, Crystal, Alana, Eric, Adam, and great-grandmother of Lucas and Coraline. have been entrusted to the D.S. Don was born in Toledo on 23, 1958 to Donald J. & Mary Lou (Shively) Connors, Sr. Donald was a carpet installer and supply house mgr. for many years, most recently working for the Dollar Floor Store.
