Obituary: William J. Bill Cleary, Jr., 60, of Marquette, passed away evening, May 9, 2015, at UP System- Marquette with his family at his side and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice. Bill was born on 29, 1955 in Marquette, a son of the late William J. and Ruth (Ranta) Cleary, Jr. He was a 1973 graduate of Marquette Senior High School. Bill served for six years in the United States Marines. discharge while visiting the Philippines, he met his future wife, Teresita and there, for the next 11 years, he made his home. During this time, Bill served as an officer in the Salvation Army. In 1995 Bill returned to the States, working at Snowberry Heights. In 1997 he once again became a soldier in the Army National Guard and supported his family back in the Philippines, putting his children, Jennifer and William through college. In 2009, his wife, Tess and son, Charlie were reunited in Marquette. Bill retired from the Guards in 2011. He was employed at the Jacobetti and Cap Cleaning until the time of his illness. In his free time, Bill enjoyed biking, reading, following NBA teams, the Detroit Tigers, Green Bay Packers and the Montreal Canadiens Hockey team. He was a member of St. Peter Cathedral. Bill was a man of integrity who leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Tess of Marquette; three children, Jennifer of Kuwait, William III of the Philippines and Charles of Marquette; two siblings, Paulette (Paul) Yelle of Marquette and Robert Cleary of Ishpeming; also many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents were two sisters, Connie Sawyer and Kathy Papciak. A memorial service will be held on , May 16th at 3 p.m. at Faith in Christ Fellowship, 101 Oakridge Drive, Sands Township, with the Rev. Chris Kostelansky officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross on , May 20th at 11 a.m. with military honors. Obituary: Thomas Allen Clearwater, 28, of Battle Creek, died tragically in an automobile accident , May 6, 2017. Thomas was born 17, 1988 in Battle Creek to Richard L. Clearwater and Ann Dowell Council. He worked as a forklift driver for Asmo Manufacturing. Thomas is survived by his two daughters, Ella Hope and Emma Faith; his son, Connor James; his grandmother, Judy Brown; father, Richard (Sue) Clearwater); mother, Ann Council; a sister, Constance Clearwater and a great-grandmother, Nerva Tripp. Thomas was preceded in death by a sister, Jennifer Irene Clearwater, an uncle, Randy Clearwater; his great-grandfather, Warrington Tripp; a grandfather, Thomas Allen Dowell and a grandmother, Hellena P. Dowell. Thomas loved playing disc golf, fishing, working on cars and working with his hands. He especially enjoyed making people laugh and spending time with his children and nieces and nephews.
