Obituary: Sara Church, age 74, of Sturgis, MI passed away Sat. 18, 2015 at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis. She was born 10, 1940, in Muncie, Indiana to Donald Tyler and Vivian Lois Church, and was raised in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. Sara graduated from Wrights Beauty Academy in Battle Creek, MI in 1964. She was a hairdresser in the Sturgis and Traverse City areas for 35 years. Sara graduated from High School in 1984 (Kingsley/Traverse City), and attended classes at Northwestern Michigan in Traverse City. Sara was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sturgis. She enjoyed painting, knitting, crochet and reading. She was proud of her children and happy to know she is loved by God. Sara is survived by three brothers: Donald (Yvonne) Church, Sanford Church and Harry Church, all of Sturgis; a daughter: Diana May (Todd) VanSlembrouck of Buckley, MI; 3 sons: Kirby (Lee) Walters of Howe, IN, Kevin Lee (Linette) Walters of Mesick, MI and Raymond Wayne (Kim) Crites of Buckley, MI; 6 grandchildren: Richard Neal (Vickie) Walters of Howe, IN, Zachary (Jocelyn) Walters of Whitmore Lake, MI, Matthew Walters of Traverse City, MI, Logan Walters of Mesick, MI, Trever Crites of Traverse City, MI and Tyler Crites of Buckley, MI; and 6 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Austin, Josiah, Adam, Lucas, and Kinsley. She was preceded in death by her parents. A service of celebration of Saras life will be held at 11:00 A.M., , at the First Presbyterian Church, 1320 S. Lakeview Ave., Sturgis, MI 49091 with The Rev. Michael Wicks, officiating. Those wishing to give gifts in Saras memory are asked to consider the First Presbyterian Church, envelopes are available at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family s, 807 E.
