Obituary: Alice Albina (Anzivino) Coppinger, of Needham and East Falmouth passed away after a courageous battle with a brief illness on 8, 2014, with her family at her side. She was 84 years old. Born just a few years after her parents immigrated to the United States, Alice grew up in Newton, MA. There, a flourishing vegetable garden and homemade wine were symbols of the lifestyle her parents maintained from their olive farm in Foggia, Italy. Alice was happiest when her loved ones were gathered at the dinner table, enjoying conversation and the traditional meals that were passed on from her mother having since fed 3 generations. Alice caught the eye of John William Coppinger, Sr., of Needham, MA, and they were married for 62 years. She cherished her role as a full time mother to four children: daughter, Kathleen (Coppinger) Oelschlegel and her husband, Chris, of Wells, ME, and her sons, Joseph Coppinger, of Mendon, MA, and Scott Coppinger and his wife, Laurie, of South Yarmouth, MA. She was also mother to the late John William Coppinger, Jr., who is survived by his wife, Elaine, of Taunton, MA. Alice was the beloved grandmother to Christopher Oelschlegel and his wife, Amanda, of Kennebunk, ME; Jenna Oelschlegel and her fiancé, Uğur Alpagot, of Istanbul, Turkey; Colleen, Meghan, Jacquelyn, and Katie Coppinger of Mendon, MA, and Taylor, Travis, and Tarra Coppinger of South Yarmouth, MA. Alice was also a great-grandmother to Liam Coppinger of Mendon, MA, and Oliver and Audrey Oelschlegel of Kennebunk, ME. She will be remembered fondly by additional relatives and friends dear to her heart. Alice was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the St. Bartholomew Dinner Club where she made warm memories and lifelong friends. With them, Alice started the tradition night scat card games, which filled her home with regular laughter and fun. Alice is also survived by her brother, Joseph Anzivino and his wife, Marilyn, of Grafton, MA, and their three children, Michael, Mark and Karen Rideout, and her son, Joseph and Rose and Reb sons Richard and Charles Tarabelli. She was pre-deceased by her parents Giuseppe and Giovannina (DelSandro) Anzivino; brother, Alphonse Anzivino and his wife Mary (Dennehy); sister, Rose (Anzivino) Tarabelli, her husband, Reb, all of Newton, MA. Alices family would like to thank the staff of Falmouth Hospital and the Stanley R. Tippett Hospice , Needham, for providing excellent and compassionate care through the final days of her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Bartholomew Church, 1180 Greendale Ave Needham, on , 14 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours in the Eaton , 1351 Highland Ave on from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Saint Marys . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alices name to a charity of your choice. |

Obituary: Former Sandwich resident Vivian R. Coppi, age 91, died 16 at the Royal Cape Cod and Rehabilitation in Buzzards Bay. Vivian was born on 20, 1923 at the family home in Sandwich. She was the daughter of Pio and Adele (Molinari) Guidi. She attended school in Sandwich and graduated in 1941, and went on to attend and graduate from Cape Cod Secretarial School in Hyannis. college Vivian earned a job at Camp Edwards as a secretary, then with the Coca Cola Plant in Sagamore, as well as working weekends as a waitress at the Daniel Webster Inn in Sandwich, where she met her future husband Hugo Coppi, of Sagamore. Vivian was united in marriage to Hugo Coppi on 3, 1948 at St. Theresas Catholic Church in Sagamore. had one daughter Sharon, who was born in 1950. the wedding, Vivian went to work for the Sandwich Co-operative Bank, She began as a teller for fifteen years, then was promoted to assistant treasurer, a position she held for twenty years until her retirement. Vivian is survived by her daughter Sharon and her husband Bruce, two grandsons Chris, Jamie, and his his wife Jacey, and three beautiful great-grandchildren, Paxton, Desmond and Sarah, who were truly a joy to her. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews that she loved as if they were her own. Calling hours with the family will be on 20 for 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the Nickerson-Bourne , 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA 02532. A short service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Peters in Sandwich. The family suggests memorial contribution be made in Vivians name to the American Cancer Society.
