Obituary: LEWISTON: Louis R. Cortigene, 85, of Auburn passed away 20 at Central Maine Medical following a brief illness. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on 20, 1929 a son of the late Anthony and Louise (Lerro) Cortigene. He grew up in the Philadelphia area and attended local schools there. He was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School. He later attended and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. On 29, 1953 he married Helene Arcidiacono and they started a family together. During that time, Louis worked as a chemist for Scotts Paper Co. in Philadelphia. In 1968 they moved to Portland, ME where he worked for SD Warren for five years before moving to Michigan in 1973. While they were there he worked for Brown Paper Co. for seven years before relocating permanently back in Maine in 1980. He then worked for Fitchburg Paper Co. in Massachusetts for a short time before switching over to International Paper, from which he retired. retirement, Louis and Helene owned and managed The Brule House for thirty five years. Louis was a highly intellectual man who developed several patents on various products over his years in research and development. He will be remembered for his quick wit and his dedication to work and family. He is survived by his wife Helene of Auburn; his children, Anthony Cortigene and his significant other Ann Sylvester of Lewiston and Lisa Gribbin of Old Orchard Beach. He also leaves behind a brother, James Cortigene of Mequon, WI; a half-brother, Seth Cortigene of Houston, TX as well as two grandchildren; Nicole Taiani and her husband Anthony Taiani and Randall Gribbin. Obituary: Brent Alan Corson died of natural causes at his residence in Skowhegan, Maine on May 24, 2013. Born 14, 1946, Brent was the first of three Corson children. His parents, Thurl and Alyse Corson, were longtime residents of Skowhegan. He is survived by a sister, Cathy Corson Lucey, of Hermon, Maine, and a younger brother, Thurl R. Corson, Jr., Bud of Leesburg, Florida. Nephews and nieces include Thurl Weston Corson of Leesburg, Florida; Kimberly Austin of Mascotte, Florida; Ryan Patrick Lucey of Bucksport, Maine, and Erin Alyssa Lucey of Bangor, Maine. Brent graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1964 and went on to graduate cum laude from Bowdoin in Brunswick, Maine in 1968. Having completed is understudies, including ROTC; Brent entered the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant and proudly served 4 years obtaining the rank of Captain. While in Viet Nam, serving with the 197th Black Horse Battalion, Brent received the Bronze Star Medal of Valor. Upon returning to the states, Brent received his Master of Fine Arts from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio where he became happily involved in professional theater for several years, before returning to his New England home. He even landed a minor role in a Betty Davis movie entitled Harvest . Having returned to his home state, Brent worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Madison, Maine as a rural carrier where he made many friends along his mail route. Then Brent took on an active role in the Revolutionary War enactments at Old Fort Weston in a, Maine, where he immensely enjoyed teaching elementary school visitors many of the practices of our colonial ancestors. Among Brents favorite hobbies in later years were landscape gardening, antique furniture restoration and listening to classical music and Maine Public Radio. Private services will be held for family and friends at the Maine Veterans Memorial , Mt. Obituary: LUCILLE MARYANNE CORSON 1937-2014 Madison-Lucille Maryanne Corson, 76 of Madison, passed away on , 20, 2014 with family by her side, after a long battle with cancer. Lucille was born on 19, 1937 in Skowhegan, the daughter of Archie Grondin and Rosanna (Barrieault) Grondin. She was educated in the Skowhegan Schools. Lucille married Richard C. Corson on 20, 1955 in Skowhegan. He died on 18, 2006. She worked at Norrwock Shoe in Skowhegan as a stitcher for many years. Then she spent many years as a homemaker. Lucille enjoyed camping, collecting teddy bears, collecting spoons and she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons: Linwood Corson and his wife Cindy, of Skowhegan, Steven Corson of Madison; one daughter, Judy Corson of Spokane, Washington, one sister, Louise Fariole of Georgia, one brother, Alfred Groder and his wife Mary of Skowhegan, three grandchildren: Timothy Willette, Tabetha Kresge and Brett Corson; three great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Robert Corson and his wife Phyllis, of Madison, one sister-in-law, Gertrude Corson of Madison, several Nieces and Nephews. A Graveside service will be held on , 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Rest in Athens. Obituary: "Life is a journey, not a destination" Linda D. Corson, of Skowhegan, began her journey on 3, 1947, and reached her eternal destination in Heaven on 13, 2017. Born in Skowhegan to Glen and Doris Corson, Linda attended Skowhegan schools graduating in 1965. She began working as a teen in the kitchen at RFGH, going on to work for Norwalk and New Balance shoe factories. many years she returned to RFGH working in the admitting and pediatric offices, where she retired from. Linda loved her family deeply. Material things were never important to her. Her greatest joy came from taking care of everyone, spending time together, taking pictures and making sweet memories. She forever put everyone else's needs ahead of her own. Linda was preceded by her father Glen, many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her mother Doris, her daughter Stacy and husband Paul DeMerchant , her brother Larry Corson, her sister Lana and husband Ron Caswell, her aunt Joan and husband Norman Finnemore, her nieces Nicole (Caswell) Ginka, Shanna Corson, her nephews Blaine Corson and Jason Caswell along with all of their families, many cousins and friends. Linda was a caring daughter, a thoughtful sister and aunt, and a wonderful, loving mother. Though we know we will spend eternity together, she will be greatly missed and forever cherished. A celebration of Lindas life will be held on 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Smart & Edwards , 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine with Pastor Val Vigue officiating.
