Obituary: Scarborough - Raymond F. Comeau, 81 of Pine Point, died , 20, 2011 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice. He was born in Lewiston, 6, 1929 the son of the late Otis and Aline Roy Comeau. He graduated from St. Dominics Regional High School in 1949. Being the all star athlete that he was he excelled in hockey and football, and became captain of both teams. He was inducted as a member of the Auburn - Lewiston Sports Hall of Fame in 1998. Ray married his high school sweet heart Murielle Caron on 21, 1952. He was the owner of Malenfants Dairy for 17 years working hard delivering milk, then later Korn Haus Keller Restaurant for over 25 years of which he was known famously for his amazing chowders, stews, and seafood dishes. He enjoyed working in his beautiful flower gardens. However, he was truly in his element when he spent time at gatherings with his children and grandchildren making sure there was an abundance of food for everyone. He was an avid skier for many years at Sugarloaf with his family, teaching all of his children how to ski. He was always the life of any party and loved to make people laugh. For the past several years he enjoyed walking for an hour or two a day around the Point. Many neighbors knew him from his walks and would always enjoy talking to him because of his positive outlook on life. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Murielle also of Pine Point; two daughters, Diane Mann and husband Kenny of Brunswick, Mona Theriault and husband Rick of Turner; four sons, Fern Comeau of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Claude Comeau of Turner, Pierre Comeau and wife Cathy of Brainerd, Minnesota, and Jacques Comeau of Portland; 8 grandchildren and one great grandson; two sisters, Laurette Carbonneau and husband Paul of Lewiston and Annette Plourde of Birmingham, Alabama; a brother Joseph Comeau of Lewiston and many nieces and nephews. Obituary: Lois M. Comeau Old Town-Lois Marie (Babkirk) Comeau, 75, passed away May 12, 2011 at a Bangor hospital following a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease). She was born 13, 1936 in Old Town a daughter of Wesley D. and Lumina L. (LeBlanc) Babkirk. Lois was educated in Old Town schools and received her Master s of Education from the University of Maine at Orono. She taught school in Auburn, Brewer, and Old Town before her marriage in 1965. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Old Town for 45 years. Lois was a regular blood donor for the American Red Cross having donated 98 pints of blood over the years. She was a very caring and loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed tremendously and will be especially remembered for her strong will during her devastating disease. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, William G. Comeau; their son Alan Comeau and his wife Christine (Winter) Comeau and their two children Haley and Austin of Old Town; five step-children Delia (Comeau) Carter and her husband Jimmy of Severn, MD, Elizabeth (Comeau) Cashman and her husband Jack of Brewer, William G. Comeau and his wife Judy (Lenfest) of Milford; Paul D. Comeau and his wife Sandy (Christiansen) of Winterport, Edward G. Obituary: Norway - Joseph Emile Marcel Comeau, 90, of Lewiston, passed peacefully in his sleep on . He was born on Mar 30, 1925 the son of the late Otis and Aline Roy Comeau. He was educated in the Holy Cross School. To his family and friends growing up he was known as Marcel. He joined the United States Marine Corps in Oct 1941 after being less than candid with the recruiter about his age. He and his brother Bob served in the same amphibious tractor company in the Pacific theater during World War II. In the Marines he became Joe and eventually served as a Platoon Sergeant in the 3rd Division. He saw action in several operations: Guadalcanal, Bougainville, Guam, and most notably Iwo Jima. The Comeau brothers were both awarded the Bronze Star for gallantry in action. Many years later one of their fellow Marines wrote, had love, they had respect, they did a great job in their leadership - to fight a thing called war. He was honorably discharged in Oct 1945.He was married to Lorraine Therese Landry of Lewiston from 1951-1977. Joe and his brothers Gerry and Bob ran Superior Seafood in Lewiston for a number of years. He learned carpentry and cabinet making, the trade in which he made his living for most of his life. The tree house and swings that he built for his children were legendary, attracting kids from all across the neighborhood. His children have fond memories of Summer days riding in the bed of his blue 1968 Chevy pickup, and days spent at Tripp and Sebago Lake, where he produced blueberry pancakes and bacon on a 3-burner Coleman stove. He lived his later years in quiet retirement in a house he built on a wooded lot in Lewiston. Much of the wood used in furniture and trim were harvested from the lot itself. He enjoyed caring for Hans, his beloved German Shepherd. Joseph is survived by one daughter, Michelle Hilliker of Lewiston; four sons, Ronald Comeau of Lewiston, Francis Comeau and wife Janice of San Leandro, CA, Lawrence Comeau and Anne Morin of Auburn, Gregory Comeau and wife Elisabeth of Longmont, CO; two sisters, Lauretta Carbonneau and husband Paul of Lewiston, and Annette Plourde of Birmingham, AL; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and his companion of many years, Lise Sasseville. He was predeceased by two sisters, Florence St. Hilaire and Lucille Comeau, also four brothers, Gerald, Laureat, Robert, and Raymond Comeau.
