Obituary: Edna S Chandler died peacefully at the Barron on evening 19, 2016. Edna was born in Meadows, New Hampshire on 5, 1918, the only daughter among four brothers of George F. and Jessie Beers Stillings. She was educated in a one room schoolhouse in Jefferson, New Hampshire. Edna received her training as a cook from her mother and started her career as a pastry chef at the Splendid Restaurant in Portland. She went on to cook at Perkins School for the Blind, Governor Baxter School and the Eunice B. Frye . She also spent many summers cooking at the Boy Scouts Camp Bomazene. her family, Edna was a committed volunteer during her children's school years and in later life for her church, St Peter's Episcopal Church, the Maine Senior Games and the for Community Dental . She was also a member of the Beacon Club. Her life revolved around her family. She was the loving wife to her late husband, Arnold S. Chandler and loving mother to her children, Anita L. Chandler, Arnold S. Chandler and his wife, Sallie, Carol R. Chandler and her partner, Robert Tracy. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her jewels. She was also the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, all whom cherished time with her. Her family will always be grateful for the loving, compassionate, and respectful care given by the entire staff of BC II at the Barron . A Requiem Mass and Celebration of Life will be held , Sept. 24 at 9:30am at St Peter's Episcopal Church, 678 Washington Ave., Portland. Fr. Lawrence Weeks will be the celebrant. Interment will immediately follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland. A reception will be held following committal services in the undercroft of St Peter's Church. Obituary: Falmouth- Athalie G. Chandler, 94, died on 19, 2013 at her home. The daughter of Roy P. and Vera (Hinkley) Gifford, she was born in Wilton Maine, and graduated from Wilton High School and Westbrook . For several years she was a legal secretary and a resident of Yarmouth. Athalie was a member of Falmouth Congregational Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club. She always loved children, animals, bird watching, gardening, camping, and traveling with their trailer or motor home, in which they covered most of the United States and Canada. and family were very important to her. She also enjoyed handwork, crafts, writing and up until 2003 spending winters in Zephyrhills, FL. Athalie was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Gifford, and her sister Dorothy Winter. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, George P. Chandler of Falmouth, her daughter Cynthia C. Rogers and her husband John of Scarborough, her son Peter Chandler and his wife Kathie of Wyoming, two grandchildren, Heather Nasella and Jason Rogers, two step-grandchildren, Chalese Carlson and Kiera Packer, and two great-grandchildren Samantha and Brooke Nasella. Obituary: Beverly Champoux, 92 Moxee - Beverly Champoux, 92 died peacefully on 1, 2017 in Gardiner, ME. Despite living and coping with diabetes and Alzheimers disease, she was able to maintain an active lifestyle doing things she enjoyed. For the past 2 ½ years she was a resident at the Alzheimers in Gardiner. Maine. The staff provided loving and attentive care and enjoyed the qualities that made Bev unique. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Delma and husband David of Gilbert, AZ; her daughter Paula Gardner and husband Brian of Gardiner, ME; her sister Agnes Lenseigne of Moxee, WA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Eldege Champoux; her daughter Denise Brown and her son Mark Anthony Champoux. Per her request there will be no funeral service. A private committal service will be arranged at a later date. |

Obituary: Dolores Madeline Champine, 90, passed away on 24, surrounded by love from her Lakewood family, husband and daughter. She was born on May 28, 1924 to William and Aurore (Ora) Goulette, of Skowhegan. She was their only child. Dolores was a 1941 graduate of Skowhegan High School. graduating, she went on to pursue a career in nursing at the Sisters Hospital in Waterville, where she was the surgical supervisor and later became the Head Laboratory Technician. In 1945, she was stationed at Fort Devens as an army nurse during World War II. Shortly thereafter, she was married to her husband Charles Champine. Her nursing career continued and she became the Director of Nurses for the Waterville Osteopathic (Inland) Hospital for several years. She was a highly respected nurse by the entire medical staff. Her caring, commitment and compassion to her patients continued long after she retired. Dolores was known as the neighborhood nurse to all even in her final days of life. She would do anything for a family or child in need, always so caring and generous. Dolores loved to travel, was an avid reader, and could do a New York Times crossword puzzle in no time. She was also a lover of all sports, in particular the Red Sox and Patriots. She and her husband in their earlier years taught Round dancing and loved to Square dance and Ballroom dance as well. Most recently, she was an avid card player, and played several times a week with friends. Dolores was also a member of the Red Hat Society Waterville branch, known as the Good Time Gals. Besides Charles, her devoted husband of 62 years, she is survived by her daughter, Shelly Simpson and her husband, Reginald of Waterville; her grandchildren, Ryan Simpson of South Portland, Nicole Simpson Lemieux and her husband Brenton of Cumberland, and two great grandchildren, Reese, and Charlie also of Cumberland. She loved her family greatly, as they were the dreams of her life. Her greatest regret was not being able to meet her infant great grandson, Charlie, who is named after her beloved husband. Dolores is also survived by many cousins and dear friends; including her devoted cousin, Leonita Lefebrve, and her dear friends, Roy and Esther Scott. Visiting hours will be , 29 from 4-6 pm, at the Veilleux , Waterville. Her funeral mass will be at 11:00 am on 30 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Waterville. Her family is very grateful for the extraordinary care and compassion from the Lakewood Long Term staff, where Dolores lived for the past six months. Their never-ending love for her will always be remembered and deeply appreciated. In addition, a special thank you to the Maine General Medical Staff and Beacon Hospice for their wonderful care in her final days of life. Obituary: Waterville -Charles Edward Champine, 92, passed away on 30 at Lakewood Long Term in Waterville. He was born on 28, 1922 to Wallace Champine and Gertrude Cote Champine. He was their only child. Charles graduated from Waterville High School in 1940 then enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on active duty during World War II. He was an Electronic Technicians Mate from 1943-1946. Upon his return he began working as an usher at the State Theater in Waterville, where he eventually became the District Manager of nine theaters in the state of Maine. While working in the theater business, Charles earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Thomas . Shortly thereafter in 1979, he retired from the motion picture theater business and taught at Thomas for two years. He also taught at Skowhegan High School until his retirement in 1984. retirement he taught part time at Thomas , Kennebec Valley Technical School and Adult Education in Waterville. In 1952, he was married to the love of his life, Dolores Goulette Champine, who predeceased him five short months ago. were best friends and were always together. enjoyed many hobbies together: traveling, Round and Square Dancing, Ballroom Dancing and playing cards with friends. had a truly magical relationship for over 62 years. Charles was also a member of many civil and fraternal organizations, including past President of the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce. He volunteered at Notre Dame Food Kitchen and has been an active member serving on many committees at the New Dimensions Federal Credit Union. He was also Secretary of the Board of Directors and Chairperson of the Supervisory Committee. He is also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus of the Waterville Council #148 and the Fourth Degree Assembly, where he served as Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator and as District Deputy. Charles was also an accomplished oil painter with over 20 works of art, which are all displayed in his daughters home. He had many award winning paintings that were often in and around the halls of their condominium. Above all, Charles greatest accomplishment was his family. His dedication, devotion and never-ending love was admired by all. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grampy. Charles touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a kind, considerate, and generous man always putting others ahead of himself. He is survived by his only child and loving daughter, Shelly Simpson and her husband Reginald, of Oakland. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan Simpson of South Portland, and his granddaughter, Nicole Lemieux and her husband, Brenton of Cumberland, two great grandchildren, Reese and Charlie Lemieux of Cumberland. He admired and greatly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was honored to have his great grandson named after him. There will be no visiting hours by request of the family.
