Obituary: On 6, 2012, Frank Lee Cato III, passed away while napping in his favorite chair. His passing was peaceful. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Frank was born 14, 1933 at Touro Infirmary to Doctors Frank and Corrine Cato. He was educated at Newman and St. Marks Academy in Massachusetts before finishing his education at Tulane University. Frank served his country as a stateside soldier in the United States Army during the Korean War. Frank married Beverly Demorelle Cato, the love of his life, in 1966. Their first son, Rusty, was born in 1967, followed by a second, Randy in 1969. careers in the shipping and automotive fields, Frank opened a Cottman Transmission in 1988. It was at this time that Frank blossomed as a businessman. Many will remember him as Frank in the local Cottman Transmission commercials-the guy who never actually said anything. He was portrayed as a quiet guy in the commercials, but in real life he loved to talk. He enjoyed long conversations with friends and family. Besides visiting and long conversations, Franks interests included a love of animals, fishing, football, and cheering for the New Orleans Saints and Tulane sports. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly. He is survived by his sons Rusty and Randy; their wives Wendy Baudoin Cato and Kristie Edwards Cato, and his granddaughter, Megan Cato. The family would like to thank his wonderful neighbors who allowed Frank to keep his independence and others who knew, loved, and helped Frank throughout his lifetime. Visitation will be held at Jacob Schoen & Son on Canal Street 11th, from 5-9 P.M. and , 12th, from 9-11 A.M. Mass will be at 11 A.M., with burial following at Hope Mausoleum. Obituary: Lowell Duane Cathey Cox Bastrop, Louisiana BASTROP, LA. Lowell Duane Waynie Poppa-Bear Cathey, a retired paint contractor, was born in Paso Robles, California, 22, 1957. He died in Sterlington, Louisiana, 28, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lavaughn D. Fuzz Cathey and Wanda Wylie Cathey. He is survived by his children, Taylor, wife Amanda, and grandchildren, Jacob and Lucas, Krystan and Sydney; partner, Tonya Musgrave and her children, Holden, Molly and Julian; his brothers, Ron and wife Vivian, Larry, Stewart and wife Donna, Sonny and wife Evelyn, Chris and wife Neely; best friend Brian Gum; and little dog, Fergie. He is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews and assorted cousins. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He studied agriculture at N.L.U. Every year his garden filled the freezers of his family and close friends. Among his favorite things were visiting with family, going to deer camp with his brothers and nephews, freshwater fishing and any kind of cooking. in retirement he raised quail, harvesting the eggs for pickling; and he operated a boiled crawfish business in Sterlington. Most afternoons would find him standing in his yard alongside the bed of his pickup truck; telling stories and bringing joy to all who cared to listen. We all did. All are invited to his visitation at Cox in Bastrop, Louisiana starting at 12:30 p.m. on , 2nd, and continuing until funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be: Larry Cathey, Jr., Christopher Cathey, Jr., Stewart Cathey, Jr., Erich Cathey, Nick Cathey, and Holden Musgrave. Honorary pallbearers are the surviving Cathey brothers. Interment will be at Pine Grove , on LA. Hwy. 139, 3 miles south of Bastrop. |
