Obituary: Margaret M. Cole, 85, of Philpot, Kentucky died , 21, 2010 at Owensboro Medical System after living with Alzheimers for many years. Margaret lived her life giving to her family and community as she believed Christ teaches us to do. She believed actions meant more than words. She had a dry sense of humor, spoke with compassion and conviction, and was always there to listen and to advise. She believed you were never too old to learn. She enjoyed having her family around her, working in her yard and travelling when she had the opportunity. She loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She was a charter member of Masonville Baptist Church where she was a School teacher and also served as treasurer for many years. Margaret was active in the Republican Womens Organization on the local, state and national level, served on the board of The Arc of Owensboro, was a member of Masonville makers, past board member of the YWCA, and worked alongside her late husband, Dr. Clarence Eugene Cole, in his dental practice. Margaret is also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nannie Leathers Martin, and her brothers, Charles Martin and James Martin. Survivors include her children, Charles Joseph Cole of Owensboro, Margaret Libby Cambron and her husband Nick of Owensboro, Jeanne Cole and her husband Jonathan Ledsky of Chicago, IL, and Rebecca Becky Cole and her husband Michael Kanel of Madison, WI; grandchildren Jonathan Cambron and his wife Janie, Christopher Cambron, Clara Ledsky, Isabel Ledsky, Aaron Ledsky, Avery Kanel and William Kanel; great-granddaughter Savannah Cambron; sister Nancy Elizabeth Martin of Danville, KY; a nephew, James Jim Martin of Lexington, KY.; and a special friend and caregiver, Anna Bryant of Hartford, KY. Services and burial will be private. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove . In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to the Opportunity Workshop, P.O. Box 1833, Owensboro, KY 42302; Sunrise Childrens Services, 2720 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY 42301; or to the Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.

She was a long-time homemaker, but worked at Curves and was a Zumba instructor for several years. She loved United Christian Schools with a passion. Obituary: L. D. Cole, 87, of Owensboro, died , 11, 2009, at his home. He was born 26, 1922, to the late Levi and Clara Joyner Cole in Union , AR. He was Assistant Manager of Amoco Oil Corp. for 33 years, and also retired as Assistant Manager of Anhydrous Ammonia Terminal in Huntington, IN. He was a member of Owensboro Christian Church, enjoyed music, singing, working in his garden and being outdoors. He was an Air Force Veteran of WW II, and was stationed in Okinawa. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton M. Cole and John W. Taunton, and a sister, Mildred Blydenburg. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Faye Cole; his children, Robert Cole and his wife, Mary of Owensboro, Gary Cole of Princeton, Loyd Cole and his wife, Carman of Philpot, Diane Kressman and her husband, Gene of Prairieville, LA; 10 grandchildren, Kevin Cole, Kris Cole, Gary Cole, Jr., Kim Herman, Jeremy Cole, Amanda Keating, Brandon Livingston, Vicky Payne, Kenneth and Keith Kressman; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Barney Taunton of Pine Bluff, AR, Roy Taunton of Morrilton, AR, sisters, Carolyn Goodfield of Bloomington, CA, and Corrine Means of Little Rock, AR. Kevin was born in Maryland and lived in Phoenix,Pennsylvania Boston, Seattle and Des Moines before moving to Owensboro. He had worked as an industrial psychologist for Microsoft and Pioneer Grain. He was a devoted and loving father, and he enjoyed reading, listening to music, cooking and watching television. Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, L.D. Cole in 2009, Robert Dunbar in 1966, and Marjorie Dunbar in 1994. Surviving are his two sons, Joshua and Parker Cole of St. Louis, MO., his parents, Robert Leon and Mary Dunbar Cole of Owensboro, a brother Kristopher (Brianna) Cole and nephews, Hayden and Gabriel Cole of Cincinnati, OH., his grandmother, Faye Cole of Owensboro, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
