Obituary: Virginia Dillman Coffey, 90, of 2280 Maplebrook Court, passed away , 15, 2005, at home. Mrs. Coffey was born in Van Buren, IN, to the late Fred B. and Norma Leah Doyle Dillman, was a member of Masonville United Methodist Church where she taught School and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Coffey is survived by her husband of 70 years, Sherman H. Coffey; a son, Darryl L. Coffey of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Donna and CA Maurer of Owensboro and Gay and Ben Spicer of Owensboro; 8 grandchildren, Kathryn Raymer, Leah Gaye Houghton, Lynette Clough, Sgt. Glenn P. Coffey, Natalie Powell, Kevin Spicer, Keith Spicer and Ben Spicer II; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-greatgrandchild. Services will be on , 18, at 11:30 a.m. in the Glenn chapel. Obituary: Stella Piercy Coffey, 94, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully , 19, 2011 at the Hillcrest care in Owensboro. She was born on 26, 1916 in Wayne , KY to the late Ambrose Dood Piercy and Leila Piercy Williams. She was a member of the Wesleyan Christian . She was retired after 33 years with General Electric of Owensboro. She was a volunteer at the Owensboro Medical System for 21 years and was a lifetime member of the Owensboro-Daviess Co. Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary. She also belonged to the Christian Womens Club and Senior Citizens . Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hershal Coffey in 1979 and by two brothers, Cecil and Knox Piercy and one sister, Georgia Hutchison, all of Monticello, KY. She is survived by one sister, Ruby Ludwig of Texas and one sister-in-law, Maydell Piercy of Monticello. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, two special care-givers, Bruce and Nina Coffey and two very special neighbors, Wanda and Bob Grady, all of Owensboro. Services will be 2:00 P.M. , 23, at Marvin S. Hicks in Monticello with burial following in Elk Springs . Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Glenn and Crematory in Owensboro and then after 12 Noon at Marvin S. Hicks in Monticello. Obituary: Sherman H. Coffey, 95, of Owensboro, passed away , 9, 2010 at Wellington Parc. Born 7, 1914, he was the son of the late Willie Coleman and Susan Ellen Hancock Coffey. Mr. Coffey retired from Harkin Oil where he was Production Superintendent and was a member of the Masonville United Methodist Church where he taught School for 40 years. He was also a 64-year member of the Masonic Lodge and served as Master and Secretary of the Utica Lodge #742, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Coffey was devoted husband and father and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Virginia Dillman Coffey in 2005, brothers, Elmer Coffey and Howard Coffey, and sisters, Abbey Coffey, Ethel Moseley, and Ella Chinn. Surviving are his children, Darryl L. Coffey , Donna and C.A. Maurer, and Gay and Ben Spicer all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Kathryn Raymer, Leah Gaye Houghton, Lynette Clough, Sgt. Glenn P. Coffey, Natalie Powell, Kevin Spicer, Keith Spicer, and Ben Spicer II; step-grandchildren, Cheryl Zellers, Jeff Maurer, and Kim Jennings; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ruth Ackerman of Conyers, GA; and Jimmie Marie Coffey Dillman of Louisville. Services are 10 a.m. , 13, 2010 in the Chapel of Glenn and Crematory with Revs. Greg Wingo and Gary Ball officiating followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on and after 9 a.m. on at the funeral home.
