Obituary: Patricia L. Patty Cheek, age 71, a resident of Royalton Road in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed , May 30, 2015 at Pikeville Medical in Pikeville, Kentucky. Mrs. Cheek was born 8, 1943 in Paintsville, Kentucky the daughter of the late James and Lois Jane Bailey Salyer. Also, proceeding in death is her husband, Jimmie E. Cheek; sons, James R. Jimmie Cheek, Jeffrey D. Muggs Cheek; and sister, Virginia Jenny Lou Caldwell. Mrs. Cheek was an employee of the Magoffin School System where she was employed as a cook for many years. She was also the owner of Cheeks Bed of Roses in Salyersville, Kentucky. Mrs. Cheek was a member of the Licking River Baptist Church in Salyersville, Kentucky. Those left to mourn includes her daughters, Jill Hunley of Salyersville, Kentucky, Nikki Jane Cheek of Salyersville, Kentucky; sisters, Karen K. Patrick of Salyersville, Kentucky, Vicky S. Blanton of Salyersville, Kentucky. Also, surviving are nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a host of family, and friends who love and miss her service for Patricia L. Patty Cheek will be conducted , 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Salyersville in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Eric Pelphrey will deliver comforting words on the day of service. Interment will follow the service in the Owens Family on River Road in Salyersville, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends after 6:00 PM and anytime prior to the funeral service. Obituary: Mary Lou Baily Cheek, 78, of 2702 East Fourth Street, Owensboro, Kentucky died , May 11, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Systems. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Mr. J. Glenn Cheek. She was retired from the A&P Supermarket in 1979 after 28 years. She was a member of Whitesville Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star Leitchfield Lodge #26 since 1956, she was a Past Matron, White Shrine of Jerusalem Lodge # 2 since 1969, Owensboro Senior Citizens, Owensboro Daviess makers and Short Creek/Grayson makers. She is survived by two sons, David G. Creek and Marshall R. Creek both of Owensboro, one daughter, Cynthia L. Cheek of Louisville, Kentucky, Five grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren and one brother J.D. Baily of Owensboro. There is not any visitation. Services will be in Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens at 10:00 a.m. on , May 14, 2002. Entombment will follow. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice.

Obituary: David G. Cheek, 68, of Owensboro, died , 12, 2013 at his home. David was born in Daviess , 31, 1944 to the late Joseph Glenn and Mary Lou (Bailey) Cheek. He was a retired electrician for IBEW Union Local 1701, and a member of Hall Street Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Cheek in 2003. Surviving are two daughters, Kim (Bill) Brown and Jeanne (Tommy) Hall both of Owensboro, his companion, Robin C. Dearing of Maceo, a sister, Cynthia Cheek of Louisville, KY, grandchildren, Wesley Brown, Kaci Hall, Zachary Hall, Ashley Hall, Corey Hall, and several nieces and nephews. services will be 12 p.m. at Glenn and Crematory with entombment following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. . Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
