Obituary: Craig A. Coberly, 74, of Moorhead, Iowa, passed away , 8, 2015 at University of Nebraska Medical in Omaha, Nebraska. services will be 10:30 A.M. , 11, 2015 at the Moorhead Christian Church in Moorhead, Iowa with Reverend Michael Brown, officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Valley , rural Moorhead, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. , 10, 2015 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the church. are under the direction of Rush Family Service in Onawa, Iowa. Craig Allan was born 15, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Loren and Margaret (Carlson) Coberly. He was raised in the Moorhead area and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1959. He then attended Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. Craig and Ann Fox were united in marriage on May 23, 1964 in Talihina, Oklahoma and had many happy years together. Two children were born to this union, Dana and Kelly. He farmed and raised livestock in the Moorhead area. He rodeoed at the high school, college, and professional levels. He was active in 4-H showing cattle in Kansas City, Chicago, Denver, and at Aksarben as well as local shows. He served on the East Monona School Board and the Moorhead Coop Board. He was also a member of the Moorhead Christian Church. Craig is survived by his daughter, Dana Coberly of Tampa Bay, FL; his son, Kelly (Julie) Coberly of Moorhead, IA; his grandson, Loren Coberly; his granddaughter, Megan Coberly; his sister, Sue Coberly of Dallas, TX; his brother, Dennis Coberly of Belen, NM; several nieces, nephews; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Margaret Coberly; and a sister-in-law, Nikki Coberly. Memorials may be directed to Oklahoma State Foundation (OSUF)/Craig Coberly Rodeo Team Memorial Fund, 400 S. Monroe, Stillwater, Oklahoma 74074 or in care of the family. |
