Obituary: Andrew John Andy Chrapla, 64, of Indianapolis, peacefully passed away at his home on , 2, 2016. Andy was born 13, 1951 in Indianapolis to the late Adolph and Cornelia (Welch) Chrapla. He was a 1969 graduate of Cathedral High School and then attended Vincennes University. Andys gift of gab and quick wit meant he never met a stranger. He was a creative man who loved new experiences. Andy had an extraordinary talent for designing and building furniture. He and Marlene travelled to six continents and to many National Parks. He engaged others in his travels and developed an incredible appreciation of different cultures. One of his favorite things to do when he arrived home, was to recreate in his own kitchen the many wonderful cuisines he experienced in his travels. He loved cooking and sharing in conversation at the table with friends and family. Andy had an amazing memory and special interest in Civil War history he shared with others. When he wasn cooking or creating in his workshop, he could be found, with his dogs, Jack and Ginger, tending to his gardens, with a beer in hand. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Marlene Reich; children, Oona (Rico) Elmore and David (Tennessee) Chrapla; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Alexis, Saskia, Drew, Brielle and Keahla; siblings, Ann (John) Long, Margaret Mag Chrapla, Ellen Chrapla and Michael (Ellen) Chrapla and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Andys family will receive family and friends at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary from 2 - 6 pm on , 5th. Following the gathering at the mortuary, everyone is in invited to continue in celebration of Andys life at the home of Oona and Rico Elmore at 5857 Winding Way Lane Indianapolis, IN 46220. Obituary: Adolph Chrapla 94, Indianapolis, passed away on 21, 2010. He was born 9, 1916 in Collinsville, OK to the late John M. and Louise (Mirowka) Chrapla. His kind manner, keen sense of humor and selfless nature brightened the lives of all those lucky enough to have known him. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in East Chicago, IN. He attended Indiana University, Calumet Regional Extension, Walton School of Commerce in Chicago and Army Finance School, Duke University. Adolph married the late Cornelia Welch, 16, 1943 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, where each continued to be life-long parishioners. Adolph was deployed during World War II to Italy with the 10th Mountain Division as Captain, Assistant Finance Officer. He was honorably discharged with the Bronze Star and several other service stars and ribbons. He then worked for the IRS as Appellate Appeals Officer, retiring after 32 years. He was a life member of American Legion Kennington Post 34. There, he served as Post Commander, Adjutant, Boys State Coordinator and choral group member. At St. Joan of Arc, he was Parish Council President, Finance Committee member and church choir member. He was active in coaching Little League and CYO sports, for which he received the St. John Bosco Award for his dedication working with youths. retirement from the IRS, Adolph was a volunteer bookkeeper at Fatima Retreat House for 17 years. He was also an associate member of Notre Dame Club of Indianapolis, and a founding member and long-time treasurer of FCVBA Volleyball Club, which gave him immense pleasure and pride. He was preceded in death by his parents and Cornelia, his beloved wife of 44 years, a brother John, and his sisters Genevieve and Helen. He is survived by his children Ann (John) Long of Plantation FL, Margaret Mag Chrapla, Ellen Chrapla, Michael (Ellen) Chrapla and Andrew (Marlene) Chrapla, all of Indianapolis, and his sister Lillian Kazcka of Dallas, OR. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be , 23 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. prayers will be , 24 at 9:15 am at the Mortuary, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc, with a graveside service at Calvary following. Obituary: William F. Chon, age 88, of Hessville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on 6, 2016 at Community Hospital with his loving family at his side. Bill was born 28, 1927 to the late Joseph and Catherine (Naugle) Chon. Also preceding him in death are his loving wife of 64 years, Jean Chon; brothers, Joseph Chon and Bob Chon; sisters, Lillian Salyan, Kris Banka and Mary Armstrong. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sandra (Larry) Earle of Marion Iowa; grandchildren, Eric (Shannon) Kutscher of Oro Valley, Arizona, and Nicole (Calvin) Keziah of Davenport, Iowa; and a sister, Betty Sheldon of Hydman, Pennsylvania. Mr. Chon honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II serving in the Pacific Theater. He also honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill was an Iron Worker for Local #395 for over 65 years. He belonged to the Hessville American Legion #232 and Hessville Veterans of Foreign Wars #7881. Bill enjoyed gardening and taking care of his manicured lawn, taking long walks in his neighborhood, and always appreciated a new car. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, and Cubs fan.
