Obituary: Dr. Robert Bob Burris Chevalier, 88, of Nashville died 1, 2016 in his home with his family at his side. He was born 25, 1927 in Indianapolis, IN. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Pusey Chevalier of Nashville; six children, Karen (Paul) Chevalier-Smith of Indianapolis, Timothy (Laura) Chevalier of North Carolina, Jeffery (Ann) Chevalier of Florida, Victoria (Joe) Borrelli of Bloomington, Robert (Sharon) Chevalier of Pennsylvania and Holly (Michael) Spears of Fishers; two sisters, Marty and Margot both of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; two step children, Gregory Watson of Indianapolis and Deborah (Ric) Boyce of South Carolina; and four step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dr. Bob was of the Episcopalian faith. He graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis in 1945 and enlisted in the United States Army attaining the rank of Sergeant while serving in occupied Japan. being discharged he went to DePauw University graduating with a B.A. Degree, he then enrolled in the Medical of Virginia earning his M.D. Degree in 1955. He then went to Methodist Hospital and served his internship from 1955 - 1956 and his residency in internal medicine from 1956 - 1959. Following his residency he did his Fellowship in Cardiology in 1959 - 1960 at the Krannert Heart Research Institute in Indianapolis, the Indiana University School of Medicine and was a National Institute of trainee. During the course of his career, Dr. Bob was awarded the following Academic Appointments: Instructor, Department of Medicine, Indiana University School of Medicine, 1960 - 1963; Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Indiana University School of Medicine, 1963 - 1970; Research Associate, Krannert Heart Research Institute, 1960 - 1963; Senior Research Associate, Krannert Heart Research Institute, 1963 - 1965; Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, University of Alabama School of Medicine, 1970 - 1972; Associate Professor, Department of Cardiology, University of Alabama School of Medicine, 1970 - 1972; Visiting Professor, University of Alabama School of Medicine, 1972 - 1976; Associate Professor, Department of Community Sciences, Indiana University School of Medicine, 1972 - 1984; Visiting Professor, University of North Dakota School of Medicine; Director of Medical Education during the 1970s at St. Francis Hospital; and established the Family Practice Residency Program at St. Francis Hospital. Dr. Bob was also involved with the American Federation for Clinical Research; Association of American Medical s; Marion Heart Association; Indiana Heart Association, where he had been Vice President, President, on the Long Range Planning Committee, the Research Council and the Board of Directors and the Executive Council; Alabama Heart Association; the American Heart Association; the Marion Medical Society; Indiana State Medical Association; and the American Medical Association. He was awarded the following honors: Alpha Sigma Chi, Honorary Leadership Society, Medical of Virginia; Distinguished Alumnus Award: DePauw University; and the Edward Rector Meritorious Achievement Award: DePauw University. He maintained a private practice of Internal Medicine and Cardiology in Indianapolis from 1965 - 1971; was a Consultative Examiner, Disability Determination Service, performing over 4,500 examinations from 1984 - 1990; was a Medical Expert with the Offices of Hearings and Appeals in Indianapolis from 1990 - 1996 and in San Diego from 1996 - 1998 where he testified in over 5,000 hearings; was a Medical Consultant, Creative Rehabilitation Management from 1993 - 1996 and a Consultative Examiner, Disability Determination Service performing over 1,000 examinations from 1998 - 2000. Services are scheduled for , 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM in St Davids Episcopal Church in Bean Blossom with Reverend Rick Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn , Nashville. Obituary: Edwin Milan Chestovich, 67, passed on 11, 2014. He is survived by wife Marti, daughters Amy, Sara (Shane)Hiatt and granddaughter Vivian Rose. brothers Terry (Diane) , Alan (Valerie) and Robert Chestovich. Ed was born on May 8, 1947 to the late Milan and Thelma Chestovich in Gary, Indiana. He attended Calumet High School and earned his bachelors degree from Indiana University. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1970 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Ed worked for ServiceMaster as a manager at St Vincents Hospital and later in janitorial sales for Acorn Supply, and Flexpak in Indianapolis before retiring in 2011. Since retiring Ed spent his time planning his next trip to the beach to go fishing with friends and family. InformationA funeral will be held at 11am on 16 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church 46th and Illinois Streets, Indianapolis IN 46208 with visiting hours from 9-11a.m. at the church. Obituary: Jack L. Chestnut, 78, of Columbus, died at 9:25 a.m. , May 23, 2010, at his home. Mr. Chestnut was born in Daviess on 2, 1931, the son of Ira B. and Lena Bolding Chestnut. He married Marlene Olson in Terre Haute on 26, 1958 and she survives. He earned a B.S. and Masters Degree from Indiana State University with further studies at Indiana University. Mr. Chestnut was a former Social Studies teacher and counselor at Central and Northside Junior High Schools. He was a ninth grade basketball coach and athletic director at both schools. He was a referee for basketball and football and a baseball umpire. He left teaching in 1970 to become a self employed realtor and builder. He was a member of the First Christian Church and a former member of Metropolitan Exchange Club. He also served in the United States Army. In addition to his wife, Mr. Chestnut is survived by daughters, Susan (Scott) Rust, Karen (Rod) Wilson, Sharon (Jason) Newton, all of Columbus, Cheryl (Craig) Hendrix of Indianapolis and Janet (Kevin) Richards of Dublin, Ohio; sisters, Linda (Bernie) Osmon of Plainville and Rita (Jerry) Hawkins of Sullivan; grandchildren, Evan Rust, Brandt and Drew Hendrix, Carson, Carlee and Camille Richards, Reid and Claire Wilson and Megan and Molly Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Gregory Bryan Chestnut. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street. Calling will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. until service time . Burial will be at Garland Brook . Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
