Obituary: Danny R. Carter, age 77, passed away on 7, 2017. He was born May 1, 1939. Danny is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Locasto Dennis Carter, eight children, 27 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren who called him P-Paw. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marcia. Friends may greet the family on , 12th from 4 pm to 8 pm at Burdan , 12901 Wicker Ave. (corner of US41 and 129th Ave.) Cedar Lake. A funeral service will take place 13th with visitation at 11 am and service at noon DIRECTLY at First Christian Reformed Church, 909 E. Greenwood Ave, Crown Point. Burial will take place in Roanoke, VA on , 15. Danny was a loving husband, devoted father, and a disciple for the Lord. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force. Danny was a retired truck driver and avid golfer. He loved to spend his time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Danny would greet children in his Donald Duck voice and enjoyed feeding his birds. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace P-Paw. Obituary: Clifford Ray Sonny Carter, 77, of Connersville, died , 19, 2016, at his residence. Clifford was born in Connersville, 27, 1939, to Ray Kenneth and Marguerite Rebecca Powell Carter. He attended Connersville area schools and was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1962. Clifford served as a Specialist 4th Class with the 11th Infantry, 5th Infantry Division based at Fort Carson, Colorado, prior to his discharge in 1963. He retired from Roots Blower and had previously worked at Connersville Casket . Currently, Clifford was employed as the bartender at the American Legion. He was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and 40 et 8. Clifford loved spending time with his family and his friends. He was an avid racing fan and Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio was his favorite track. In addition to his parents, Clifford is preceded in death by his sisters: infants Darlene and Kay Carter, Phyllis Ann Hall and Carolyn Sue Powell; his former wife who died in 1987: Ruth Ann Cox Carter, whom he married 2, 1966. Clifford is survived by his children: Matthew L. Carter and Janell S. Isaacs, both of Connersville; his siblings and their spouses: Becky L. Chaney and Robert of Connersville, Harold Carter and Phyllis of Shelbyville; his grandchildren: Jordan Smith of New Mexico, Derek Carter of ville, Shanelle Carter of Connersville, Alex, Devin and Emily Carter, all of Boston; Austin Carter of Laurel; Rae-Ann Isaacs of Craig, Colorado; Lucinda L. and James A. Isaacs Jr., both of Connersville; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. services will be conducted at 1 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long , Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Rob Mullins of Richmond, officiating. Interment will follow in Dale with military honors by the Fayette Veterans Council. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette Veterans Council. Obituary: Christopher Scott Carter crossed over in his sleep after a lengthy illness in the home he shared with his loving life partner, Donna (McClung) Falk. Born Christmas day 1954 in Bloomington, IN, he was the son of Phyllis (Crews) Carter of Bloomington and the late James W. Carter. He was the father of Nikita Rae (Carter) McDonald (husband Andrew), Christopher Matthew Carter, all of Carmel, IN and Brian Rhodes of Indianapolis, IN. His brother, James Matthew Carter lives in Sarasota, FL. Cris was a graduate from BHS Norths first class in 1973. He served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne and was deployed for 2 years in S. Korea. From the start, Cris always had an affinity for all creatures, from cats and dogs to turtles, snakes and fish. He was never without a multitude of beloved pets in his life. In recent years his sweet Mikey would curl up on his chest and fall asleep purring, giving great comfort to them both. Cris had a bright curious mind and loved reading, expanding his knowledge of science and history. He had a keen interest in the Civil War and visited many battlefields over the years. When he and Donna watched Jeopardy every night, Cris almost always jumped in with the correct answers. His sense of humor held a strong bond between them. Spelunking in local caves was a favorite adventure for most of his life, and he amassed an impressive collection of special rocks. In his childhood Criss dad owned local Gulf gas stations and, for a time, was the only local mechanic who worked on foreign cars. Cris carried on this interest and their love of racing the rest of his life. Day & Deremiah-Frye Mortuary is in charge of cremation as he requested. The family is planning a celebration of life and scattering of his ashes when the weather turns warm in the spring. |
