Obituary: PEKIN ~ Frank Rosario Congelosi, Sr., 100, of North Fort Myers, Florida, passed away , 10, 2015 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. He was formerly of Pekin. Born 15, 1914 in Frankfort, New York to Anthony and Mary (Maglorie) Congelosi, he married Shirley Hedrick on 8, 1968 in Reno, Nevada. Surviving are his wife, Shirley of North Fort Myers; three children, Kay Hayden and Anthony R. Congelosi, both of North Fort Myers, Florida and Frank R. Congelosi, Jr., of Cape Coral, Florida; two grandchildren, Anthony and Noah, who brought him great joy; and his adopted daughter, Antonette Houck of California. He was preceded in death by his parents; adoptive son, Peter Congelosi; and 13 brothers and sisters. Frank began working with the Civilian Conservation Corps. in 1933. He later moved to California where he worked a variety of jobs including a lumber jack. He had moved to Pekin and worked for Central Illinois Dock. He retired at the age of 80 and moved to North Fort Myers in 1997. Frank was a hard worker and a loving man who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. , 19, 2015 at Preston-Hanley s & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chuck Grogan will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
