Obituary: Frederick Joseph Claybaugh, 66, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on , 30, 2015 at Heddington Oaks in Peoria. He was born on 26, 1949 in Bloomington, Illinois to Joseph and Margaret (Day) Claybaugh. He married Mary Ann Schaefer on May 19, 1973 in Peoria, Illinois. She survives. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Colgan of Peoria; one sister-in-law, Edwards of Peoria; two step sisters, Collette Colgan of Washington, Illinois and Carolyn (Andy) Patterson of Springfield, Illinois; one step brother, Michael (Heidi) Colgan of Wyoming, Illinois. He has several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews surviving. He was preceded in death by his father and step father, Earl Colgan. He worked at Caterpillar Inc. 32 years before retiring in of 2004. Frederick was a member of the UAW 974 for many years. He and Mary Ann enjoyed playing Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus since 1975 for many organizations and schools. Frederick and Mary Ann also were also past Avon representatives. loved to square dance and attend many Peoria Chiefs Baseball games and Rivermen Hockey games together. Frederick was a former member of the West Peoria Fire Department for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville, Illinois. The family would like to thank all the staff at Heddington Oaks on the B1 Wing for their compassion and care during Fredericks stay. services will be on , 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Father David Heinz will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 7PM at the church on with a prayer service at 6:30 PM and 30 minutes prior to services on . Obituary: Springfield, IL William H. Bill Clay, 82, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away May 31, 2013 at St. Johns Hospital. Bill was born in Springfield, 8, 1930 the son of Charles and Gladys (Neher) Clay. He married Jacqueline "Jacque"Ehlert 29, 1956 and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Doug of Springfield, his daughter, Becky (husband Bruce) Race of Pleasant Plains, IL two grandchildren; Ashley and Stephanie Race also of Pleasant Plains, IL, his sister, Mary Stumpe of Port Charlotte, FL. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents preceded him in death. Bill proudly served in the United States Army and a graduate of the University of Illinois. He was a well know Math Teacher at Lanphier High School retiring in 1985 after 26 years of service. Bill then worked for the State of Illinois Department of Revenue and retired from there in 1993. He was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church ELCA, where he served as an usher, a member of Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity, a member of the American Legion Post 32, VFW Post 755, and the Elks Lodge #158 in Springfield. Bill loved and cherished his family. His favorite pastime was attending all the activities of his grandchildren, whether softball, basketball, soccer, track and dance recitals. He was an avid bowler, and as his children were growing up, he was a coach Dougs Khoury League Baseball Team and Beckys Softball Team. are under the direction of Bisch West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield, IL where a visitation will be on 2, 2013 from 3-6 pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on 3, 2013 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church 2600 S. 5th St. Springfield, IL with Rev. Bill Zanton officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge where the Inter- Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon will provide military honors. Obituary: Ruby Clay passed away 9, 2017. She was 98. Born Ruby Rubel, she was the daughter of Edward and Stephanie Rubel of Chicago, IL, where she grew up with her sister Irene and attended Carl Schurz high school. graduation Ruby took business courses and became a secretary and stenographer at Beardsley and Piper Co where she met her husband Murray. were wed in 1946. had two children. In 1954 she move to Evanston, IL, and was an active member in several women's clubs while raising her family. When Murray retired in 1967 they purchased a winter home in Coral Gables, FL. During his retirement they travelled extensively. Ruby and Murray were active members of the Saddle & Cycle Club on Chicago's north side, the Coral Gables Country Club, and the Coconut Grove Yacht Club in Miami. Ruby was an avid tennis player and entered numerous tournaments in both IL and FL. She and her husband also played doubles. Ruby continued to play well into her nineties. She also had a passion for playing Bridge. Mrs. Clay is survived by her son Douglas, daughter Constance, step-daughters Margaret and Nancy, nephew Cory, and six grandchildren. She will be interned at Memorial Park in Skokie, IL. A remembrance ceremony will be held on 22nd at 12:00 pm at Wm. H Scott , 1100 Greenleaf Ave, Wilmette, IL.
