Obituary: Frank Anthony Cusimano, 23, 29, 1991 passed away peacefully at home after a short illness. Escorted by angels to his Eternal into the arms of Jesus. He is preceded in death by his father Frank C. Cusimano, grandparents Frank and Angeline Cusimano and Billy G. Taylor. He is survived by his loving and devoted mother Kathy Cusimano, brother Tim Quick (Tonia), sisters Angie Coley (Jay), Paula Wilbanks, Connie D’Amico (Vincent), grandmother Verbie Taylor, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, devoted caregivers and friends. Graduated in 2012 at Linda Nolen Learning , attending from the age of 3 till the age of 21. Anthony loved school dearly and received numerous awards. Anthony also enjoyed riding horses at Special Equestrians. He played baseball at the Moody Miracle League for many years, water skiing at Adaptive Aquatics. He was a very devout University of Alabama football fan. Anthony enjoyed a full life including road trips with family to the Grand Canyon, the beach, and Gatlinburg. He loved matchbox cars, plastic spoons, waterparks, balloons, his dog Gabe, music. He regularly talked to Ginger an app, on his IPad all day. Rainbow was his favorite song. The family would like to thank all of Anthony’s caregivers, friends, former teachers for their love and support. Mass of Christian Burial will take place , Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1394 Ashville Court, Leeds. Fr. Gray Bean officiating. Burial at Forest Crest , 5730 Hwy 78 East, Birmingham, immediately following. Preceded in death by parents, Edward Francis Cusick and Katherine Colgan Cusick, and brother, George Colgan Cusick. Survived by wife of 53 years, Jane Roth Cusick, of Leeds; children Mary Katherine Cusick Hay (John Dillon Hay) of Boulder, Colo., Edward Francis Cusick III of Denver, Colo., Kathleen Louise Cusick Blackburn of Athens, Ga., Daniel Roy Cusick (Sarah Eastman Cusick) of Minneapolis, Minn., Patricia MacDonald Cusick Ellis (Chris) of Leeds, and grandchildren, Sean Francis Morgan, Elise Caroline Morgan, Hannah Sara Morgan, Helen Jane Cusick, Andrew Daniel Cusick, John Alexander Cusick and Lola Jane Ellis. Also survived by sisters Kathleen C. Burrus of Bellevue, Wash., Mary C. Cuddihy (Santiago) of Tucson, Ariz., Peggy C. Viall of Atlantic Beach, Fla., and Caroline C. Gill (Jim) of Carmel, Calif. Mr. Cusick was born Aug. 13, 1930 in Chicago, Ill. He graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tenn., and Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisc., in 1952 He also attended the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. He received a commission as a lieutenant in the United States Navy in 1955 and later served in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a flight navigator on missions between the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. He was married to Jane Roth on Dec. 29, 1961, in Minneapolis before settling in the Birmingham area. Mr. Cusick was a long-time executive of Rock Wool Manufacturing Co. in Leeds and was a dedicated parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Leeds and supporter of many Catholic charities and causes. He was also a lifetime member and supporter of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation. retirement, he managed the Holy Rosary food pantry in Birmingham for roughly 10 years. Obituary: Cushing, Marjorie Poole, age 94, of wood, died , 17, 2013. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Donald M. Cushing, and two grandchildren, Robert Cushing and Lindsey Cushing. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth M. Cushing and his wife Rachel, of Trussville, and William P. Cushing and his wife Gale, of Richmond, Virginia, by her daughter Ann Palmer and her husband Gary, of Hoover; by five grandchildren, Erin Grant and her husband Travis, Jennifer Cushing, Claire Palmer, Kathleen Palmer, and Robert Palmer, and by her great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Grant. Marjorie was born in Mullins, SC on 14, 1918. She graduated from Queens ( ) University, Charlotte, NC in 1940 and was working at the Army Quartermaster Depot in Charlotte when she met Army Captain Donald M. Cushing. married on 6, 1944. Marjorie and Don began raising their family in North Carolina; later they moved to New Orleans, and eventually settled in Mountain Brook in 1970. Marjorie was a wonderful mother and grandmother, a great cook, a friend to many, and a devoted church member wherever she lived. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to New Beacon Hospice for their help during her final days and especially to Betty Goldsby for her loving care of Mom during her last six and a half years. Betty was an extraordinary blessing for Mom as her physical and mental capacities faded; they had many wonderful times together. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on , 22, 2013 at South Highland Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama, and the family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private at Elmwood .
