Obituary: CROWDER, IMOGENE "JEANNIE" THOMASON, age 84, went to her Lord and Savior on May 7, 2010. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and a former member of Liberty Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her sons Tim Crowder, Paul Crowder and Pauls son "Little" Tim Crowder and husband Ray Crowder. Also preceding her were brothers, Hubert Thomason, Dr. W.O. "Bill" Thomason, and sister, Ruth Ward. Survivors are daughters Anne (David) Lucas and Shirley Crowder, grandsons Brian ( ) Lucas, Chas Crowder, Lee Lucas, and great-granddaughters Claudia and Julia Lucas. Other survivors are brothers John Alton "Tutt" Thomason and sisters Eleanor Hayden, Jeannette Jeffers, Roberta (Talmage) Perrin and Dr. Eloise (John) Kirk, as will as a host of nephews and nieces. Jeannie and Ray served as Southern Baptist career missionaries in Nigeria, West Africa. counted among their family all those who served there. She was loved by all who met her, and anyone who met her felt as if he/she was her best friend. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 pm on , May 10th. A service to celebrate her life will be at 3 pm at Elmwood Chapel followed by burial at Elmwood . Obituary: NORTHPORT | Emma Dee Granny Crowder, age 90, of Northport, died 9, 2015, at DCH Regional Medical . Services will be 4 p.m. , 12, 2015, at Sunset Chapel with pastor Mac McGraft officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset , a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 56 years, J. C. Crowder; her parents, McKinley and Velma Montgomery; and precious granddaughter, Samantha Kaye Sally Sue Collins. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Crowder Collins (Sam) of Panama City Beach, Fla., Delores Dee Finlay (Bill) of Northport, Ala.; brother, Douglas Montgomery (Martha) of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Shane Collins (Jennifer) of Southport, Fla. and William Finlay of Northport, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Jordan Newsom of Southport, Fla. and Lilly Lanae Collins of Southport, Ala. Granny was born and raised in Tuscaloosa and lived her entire life there. At the age of 18, she gave her life and her heart to the Lord. Her entire life was lived for the Lord. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a stay at home mother and was always there for her girls and all of her family. She was famous for her homemade cheeseburgers and French Fries. She was a friend and blessing to all whose life she touched. She is now in paradise but we will miss her every day. We, your family, are so proud to have had and loved you so many years. Until we are all together again.. Pallbearers will be Jordan Newson, Todd Montgomery, Doug Montgomery, Jr., Jimmy Crowder, Ricky Crowder and Roy Spencer. Obituary: Mildred Wyoldean Crowden SOMERVILLE -- services for Mildred Wylodean Crowden, 87, of Somerville will be held at Roselawn Chapel on Dec. 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Dr. Shane Lewis and Dr. Kevin McCreless officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Roselawn . Mrs. Crowden passed from this life on Dec. 14, 2015, after a long illness. She was born Jan. 22, 1928, to Alvin Lewis McCreless and Bessie Copeland McCreless. She was a member of Somerville Baptist Church, retired from NASA and was a partner in Crowden and Son Bulldozer and Construction Co. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered by her friends for her many hobbies, generously giving of her gardening ideas, and dividing her plants and flowers throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Crowden; her parents and brothers, Alvin C. "Tip", Macon, and Bryce L. "Sonny" McCreless. Survivors include her son, Henry Alvin "Al" Crowden (Susan) of Somerville; grandson, Justin Alvin Crowden (Savannah); great-grandchildren, Drake Henry and Layla Reece Crowden of Priceville; brother, Malcolm Luveral McCreless; sisters, Betty Ann Dinsmore, Doris Eloise Grubbs, all of Decatur, and Gaynell Matzaganian, Banning, California and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. We extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Rodney Harney, her caregivers, Angela Mitchell, Vickey and Jennifer Dougett and Ada Jackson, Patti Wiley, Mrs. Lile, Hospice of the Valley and HGH for the care and comfort extended to our mother and grandmother during her illness. |
