Obituary: Sharon Lee Hopkins Crain went to be with the Lord on 28 in St. Paul Park, Minnesota while spending time with her daughter and grandsons. Sharon was born on 17 in Decatur, Illinois to Dorthea and Donald Hopkins. graduation from Richmond High School she attended Good Samaritan School of where she earned her R.N. and went on to attend Wright State University where she earned her degree in Cultural Anthropology and American History. Volunteering within her community and working with various missions and charitable events at her church were an important part of Sharons life. Although retired, she enjoyed contributing her R.N. knowledge to the local free clinic in Richmond, Indiana, leading the United Methodist Women Circle and by being a Stephen Minister where she was able to offer one-to-one Christian counseling to people who were going through difficult times within her congregation. Sharon truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; cross stitching, quilting, knitting, attending church, leading bible study and school, chatting with friends and spending time with those she loved most- her family. She had the wonderful ability to take care of those in need, counsel those who asked for help, support and unconditionally love the people around her, and laugh with abandon. The birth of my three children and watching them grow into responsible adults with families of their own is my proudest moment ~ Sharon She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jesse Ray Crain, son Todd Edwards (Kathy, children Jordan & Zach), son Chris Edwards (Becky, sons Gavin & Grayson), daughter Michelle Budak (children Matt and Chris), step-children Todd Crain, Benita Jones (Jeff), Garry Crain (Carol), Larry Crain (Paula), Sandra Tucker (David), Wayne Hayes (Darlene) and a whole lot of grandchildren and great-grandchildren! Family, friends, and others whose lives Sharon touched are invited to wear the color blue and attend a Memorial Service and Reception to be held at BETHESDA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 444 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30044, beginning at 11am on , 13th. Please join us to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, laugh with abandon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sharons name to Bethesda United Methodist Church. |
