He was predeceased by parents William A. and Tessa Mabel Huffman Butler; Son Joseph A. Butler; Step-Son Charles L. Causey, Jr.; Brothers George Burris Butler and Floyd E. Butler; and Sister Dorothy Swank. Virgil is survived by his wife of 52 years, Miriam L. Causey Butler of Tavares, FL; daughter Linda Ann Lang of Altamonte Springs, FL; Son James Randall Butler of Bowling Green, FL; Step-Son Paul A. Causey of Bangkok, Thailand; 3 Grandsons; 1 Granddaughter; 1 Step-Grandson; 2 Step-Granddaughters; 18 Great-Grandchildren; and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army and Air Force as a member of the 14th AF, 74th FS, serving in the China Theatre under Gen. Claire Cheneault. He was a Flying Tiger flying P-40s and then F-84s in Korea. He received eight War medals including the Purple Heart. He retired as an insurance auditor for ABCO & Associates.
