Obituary: Elaine Seibert Bogue died on 25, 2017 after a long illness. She was born on 29, 1933 in Camden, NJ to the late Frank D. and Katherine W. Seibert. Shortly thereafter she moved to Baltimore, MD and at age 5 Elaine and her family moved to Montreal, Canada were she spent her childhood until moving to Tampa, FL at the age of 12. Elaine attended Roosevelt Elementary, Wilson Jr High and Plant High School, graduating from Plant HS in 1951. She remained lifelong friends with many of her school classmates. She was a longtime member of Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church and it was there that she met Russell S. Bogue, Jr, the love of her life and husband of 65 years. graduating from Plant HS she attended Florida Southern in Lakeland, FL where she was a proud sister in ADPi sorority. She and Russell were married in 1952. As a young woman, Elaine she was a model for several promotional campaigns. She was also active in a number of organizations as an active volunteer for the betterment of Tampa, including the Junior Women’s Club, the Junior League of Tampa, and Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church. She was an active participant in the women’s tennis program at Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, playing USTA team tennis for many years. One of her most cherished activities was playing bridge with her friends, many of whom were lifelong friends from Plant High School. Elaine will be remembered for her devotion to her husband and sons, her vivacious spirit, her commitment to helping others, and her love of Christ. She is survived by her loving husband Russell S. Bogue, Jr; her two sons, Russell “Rusty” S. Bogue, III and his wife Laurie Bishop Bogue (Atlanta, GA) and Clifford W. Bogue, MD and his wife Margaret “Meg” Bogue (Guilford, CT); grandchildren, Mary Reid Bogue, Sarah V. Bogue, Elizabeth A. Bogue, Katherine B. Caster and Russell C. Bogue; and great grandchildren, Beatrice A. Harper and Oliver T. Martin. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Frank D. Seibert, Jr. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Elaine will be held at 2pm on 31, 2017 at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church with reception to follow in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church or the charity of one’s choice. The family would like to extend a special note of thanks to the many kind staff from the Canterbury Tower and Lifepath Hospice who provided exceptional care to Elaine and her family. |
