Obituary: Jeff Battell was first and foremost a Papa to his 5 grandchildren, Jasmine, Kyle, Sierra, Farah, and Reese. He was a loving and devoted father to Amber Fowler and his 2 stepsons, Michael and Joe Burton. He was son to James Battell and brother to Gary Battell. He referred to his wife, Teresa, as the love of his life and best friend. He had too many nieces and nephews to even list. But, he loved each and every one of them; and they knew it. Jeff was a master of woodwork and carpentry. His hands were magical. He graduated from Cocoa High School in 1972 and was a Brevard resident for over 55 years. He was an avid bowler (225 average), tennis player, and surfer. Actually, he was a natural athlete. He never made one enemy in his entire life. He was truly one loved and honored individual. He will be missed by so many and forever remembered. This earth has lost a genuinely kind and selfless person. Obituary: Mary Fuad Batteh, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and sister-in-law passed peacefully on , 2, 2015. Mary was born in Brooklyn, New York on 19, 1933 and was raised in Ramallah, Palestine; she moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1955. She was an active member of the Ramallah Club of Jacksonville and Assumption Catholic Church. Mary was the matriarch of her family and was known for her cooking and her baking abilities. Her selfless devotion to others was an inspiration to her family and friends. She was happiest when she was with her family and extended family. Her husband, Fuad, her parents, Jameel and Hilaneh Bateh, her sisters Jamileh, Maggie, and Salwa, and her brother Bassem precede her in death. She is survived by sons Richard (Darlene) and Sammy (Ghada), daughter Brenda Brown (Kevin) brother Albert Bateh (Janan), seven grandchildren, Jamilah Brown McCann (Jeremy), Houston Brown, Brock, Sierra, Samantha,Mikayla and Fuad Batteh and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give our sincere thanks and gratitude to Annetta Scurry, her loyal caretaker, and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn located at 4300 Beach Blvd. Jax. Obituary: Mariam B., 78, passed away on , 10, 2011, Jacksonville, FL. Mariam was born in Ramallah, Palestine and immigrated to the U.S. in 1947 at age 14, to join her father and live with relatives in Jacksonville. On 8, 1956, she married the love of her life, Jamal Batteh and had three children. Mariam tenderly loved her family with her whole heart, and often said her two grandsons were the ones who sustained her throughout the years. She loved to garden and her healthy grapevines were the envy of many. Mariam was an active member of the Ramallah-American Club of Jacksonville and San Jose Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jubran and Zahia Bajalia and a sister at a very young age. Mariam is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jamal Jimmy Batteh, her daughter, Joy Batteh-Freiha, two sons, Jerry and James Batteh and her adoring grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher Freiha. Also, she leaves behind several cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, as well as loyal friends and neighbors. Mariams passing is a profound loss and she will be dearly missed. The family will gather at Assumption Catholic Church for Visitation on , 13, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, followed by a rosary in her memory at 7:00 PM. The funeral is , 14, 10:00 AM at Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Greenlawn on Beach Blvd. under the direction of Hardage-Giddens , Jacksonville, FL. |
