Obituary: Craig Alan Barr passed away suddenly on , 28, 2017 in his sleep. Craig loved life and lived it to the fullest. He recently returned from enjoying a vacation to Hawaii and Las Vegas, Nevada. Craig was an old soul in a not so old body. From a child until the day he died, Craig was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. For all intents and purposes, he was considered the baby of the family and was spoiled rotten (primarily by his sister/2nd mother). As a child Craig was very studious and had the ability to excel in anything he put his hands and mind to. He graduated from the elite William M. Raines High School, Jacksonville, Florida as a proud member of the class of 1986. Craig attended Morehouse , Atlanta, Georgia and graduated as a Morehouse Man with a degree in Political Science. Craig furthered his education by earning a Jurisprudence Degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He practiced law in Maple Shade, New Jersey until he migrated to Philadelphia where he worked as an independent contractor for Barr & Associates. Craig was born and raised in a Christian home and he attended and was baptized at St. John's Baptist Church in Orange Park, Florida where is father, Reverend Jason Barr, Sr. was the Pastor. During his tenure in Pittsburgh, Craig was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where his oldest brother, Reverend Jason Aristotle Barr was the Pastor. Craig served there as an usher. Craig will be greatly missed by his is only sister/mother figure Gayle D. Barr and brother, Jace Antuan Barr both of Jacksonville, FL. Sister in law, Kimberly Waddell Barr, (Pittsburgh, PA) and his favorite nephew and heart string, Jason (Jay) Barr III, (Pittsburgh, PA). He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Jason Barr Sr. and Anne Reese Barr, brothers, Reverend Jason A. Barr II, Bryan A. Barr and nephew, Joshua Christian Barr along with his godparents Ruth and Chester Jones. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Craig’s name to The Houston Food Bank to assist the people of Houston, Texas.
