Obituary: Irene Marciniec Bombaci, age 95, of Hebron and longtime resident of Essex, died suddenly on 4, 2015 at Middlesex Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Marciniec and the late Joseph F. Bombaci. Daughter of the late Joseph & Stephanie (Rudzki) Zabielski. Irene was born at home and raised in Ivoryton and spent her entire married life in Essex where she raised her five children. Her time was always focused on family, faith, and friends. She was a bank teller at Deep River National bank, retiring in 1982. Her favorite pastimes included rooting for the UCONN Huskies and her beloved Red Sox (and any team who beat the Yankees!!). She will always be remembered for her wonderful homemade pies, infamous chocolate chip cookies, and unconditional love and generous spirit as a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. May she continue to know Gods love and peace, knowing that she will always be in our hearts. Irene is survived by her children: Robert S. Marciniec Sr. and his wife Mary of Plainfield, Stanley A. Marciniec Jr. and his wife Linda of Essex, Nancy M. Ebler and her husband Joseph of Wathung, NJ, J. Andrew Marciniec and his wife Katrina of Westbrook and Janet Marciniec and her husband Phil of Hebron, her sisters; Jean Forden McCloy of West Hartford, Helen MacWhinney of Essex and Bette Nielsen of Vero Beach, FL as well as 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Irene was predeceased by her brother Henry Zabielski. Visiting hours for Irene will be held on at Robinson,Wright & Weymer , 34 Main St, brook from 5-7pm. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, Prospect St. Essex on at 11am. Interment to follow at brook . Obituary: Elsie Pat (Simmons) Bombaci of Old Saybrook, CT died peacefully 30th at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her husband Louis Bombaci, Sr and two brothers George and Charlie from England. She was born in Melton, Suffolk England in of 1926 to the late Walter and Harriet (Dermedy) Simmons. finishing her education in Melton, Suffolk England, she was employed by Melton Laundry prior to marrying and moving to America. She met Louis near her home, where he was stationed, in of 1943. were married at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Woodbridge, Suffolk, England in of 1945. were married for more than 64 years. She was employed by her husbands business, Bombaci Builders as an administrative assistant. She took much pleasure in raising her family. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Saybrook (Congregational). She enjoyed knitting, mending, embroidery, baking and canning. Elsie is survived by two children: Elizabeth Bombaci West of Ivoryton and Louis Bombaci Jr. of Quaker Hill and a son in law William J. West of Niantic. She is also survived by a brother, Arthur Simmons of Melton, Suffolk England. In addition, she is survived by grandchildren: Lisa West Wilder Carideo of Colchester, Kimberly West Howley of East Haddam, Mitchell Stout of San Diego, California, Mathew Bombaci of Kona, Hawaii, and Wyatt Burgoyne of Clinton. She is also survived by five great grandchildren: Sierra, Kelsey, Gavin, Jonathon, and Ryder. The family would like to thank makers and Companions and the excellent nursing staff at Middlesex Hospital. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Malon for her care and compassion. Obituary: ELIZABETH MEAD BOLTON Elizabeth Mead Bolton, 91, of Haddam, CT, wife of the late Arthur L. Bolton, passed away peacefully on , 4, 2016 at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, CT. She was born in Beijing (Peking), China on 31, 1924, to missionary parents, Lawrence M. Mead and Eleanor (Machado) Mead. Elizabeth, also known by her childhood nickname Ba, attended North China American School with her four siblings. Her father worked at the YMCA, and was on staff at the Yenching University English Department. War came to China in 1937, and two years later the Meads returned to the United States. traveled by boat from Hong Kong and Singapore to Calcutta, across India by train, on to Marseilles, France, making stops to visit family in Switzerland and England. These life experiences gifted Elizabeth with a well-grounded view of the world. Life in America was no less engaging, attending public school in Princeton, NJ, studying at Northfield School, MA, and for two years at Radcliffe .A nursing degree at Bostons Childrens Hospital School of in 1947, and a Bachelors degree in Education from the University of Minnesota, completed the training for her lifes work. In 1956, she married Arthur Bolton, a technical writer for Grumman Aerospace Corporation. made their home in Huntington NY, balancing family and careers and enjoying weekends sailing. One of Elizabeths great passions was knitting. Over the years, her busy hands delivered an untold number of afghan blankets, scarves, hats, doll clothes, and Christmas stockings to children, grandchildren and friends. A lasting treasure is her knitting book, which details the plans for each of her Granny Corner Originals. Elizabeths life-long dream was to run a nursery school. Thus, in 1970, a property was purchased and the family relocated to Clinton, CT. A year later she opened the doors of the Red Barn Childrens , as its founder and first director. In following years, a preschool/elementary summer program was added. Through her devoted work, Elizabeth touched generations of youths in the Shoreline area, and that legacy lives on to this day. Elizabeth is survived by her three sons, Jay D. Bolton and his wife Josephine of Old Lyme, William B. Bolton and his wife Mary Lee of Hamden, and David S. Bolton and his wife Carolyn of Haddam, and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Laurence L. Bolton. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm. , 16, at the First Congregational Church of Madison, 26 Meetinghouse Lane, Madison. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the Swan , 80 East Main St., Clinton on evening, 14, from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Elizabeths memory to the Red Barn Children's 's45th Year Playground Fund, 125 Kelseytown Road, Clinton, CT 06413. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff members of Middlesex in Middletown for the support and loving care they gave Elizabeth over the past nine years. |
