Obituary: Robert E. Bobinski, 75 of Southington died unexpectedly at home on , 30, 2013. He was born in Waterbury, CT and has lived in Southington for many years; he was the son of the late Mieczyslaw and Helena Bobinski. Robert was a devoted husband, uncle and friend who cherished time spend with family and friends. He was alight hearted man who had a loving and gentle nature with a great sense of humor. He was friendly, generous and helpfully, never failed to make his friends and family smile even in a difficult situation; he spend over 30 years as a volunteer for AA. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda Bobinski; his sister in law Krystyna Witkowski of Southington; nephew Sebastian Lichodziejewski and his wife Livia and their son Nataniel; his cousins Jane and Ted Barszcz of Meriden and Marianne Provancher Rayn of Plymouth; and a dear cousin in Poland, Rev. Krzysztof Sikora. As well as many friends whose life he touched in a special way. Services will be on , 3, 2013 at 9:00 Am at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Obituary: BOBINSKI, PAUL LEO Paul L. Bobinski of Niantic, died peacefully on 16, 2015. Born in Stamford, CT, 23, 1921, he was the son of Leon and Michalina Bobinski. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Josephine Grabowski Bobinski, daughters; Ginny Wilson and her husband Kenneth of Guilford CT, Jean-Anne Amado and her husband Daniel of Lucas, TX, daughter-in law Kimberle Bobinski of Laurel, MD, 8 grandchildren; Kristen, Paul, Alexandra, Melanie, Brian, Matthew, Joseph and Julian, 3 great-grandchildren; Sienna, Blake and Kendall. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph Bobinski and his 10 brothers and sisters; Jennie, Harry, Sigmund, John, William, Regina, Albin, Myron, Edward and Leo. Paul graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry and received his Masters Degree in Education from Willimantic State Teachers . He also received an Advanced Degree of Studies in Science from St. Josephs . In 1953, he married his wife and they moved to Niantic where Paul became the owner/operator of the Niantic Dairy Queen. Throughout the past 63 years, Mr. B has provided employment, mentoring, and a sense of work ethic to almost 200 teenage employees. Working at the Dairy Queen was, and still is, a family affair. Many families have had two and three generations employed there through the years. Paul was a beloved chemistry teacher at Old Saybrook High School for 29 years, retiring in 1984. retiring, he continued to substitute teach in Waterford and East Lyme school systems. Despite his professional and academic successes, Pauls greatest love was his family. All three of his children grew up with him at the Dairy Queen, watching and learning by his example. Additionally, his three grandchildren, Alexandra, Matthew, and Julian worked side-by-side with their grandfather, seeing first hand that age was not an obstacle. Because the Dairy Queen was a seasonal business, summer vacations were sparse at best for Pauls family. Wanting to ensure that they had quality down time, they skied at Magic Mountain, VT each winter, and Paul took the plunge and learned to ski at 55 years old. He and his beloved wife Josephine had a love of travel--cruising the Western and Eastern Caribbean, traveling to Europe, Alaska, the Panama Canal, Aruba and Florida. Paul was a Justice of the Peace, marrying countless couples and officiating over the weddings of his nephew Jerry, his daughter Jean-Anne, and his brother Leo. He was an excellent bowler, and in his youth he bowled at least four times a week. As an award-winning horseshoe player, Paul spent many enjoyable moments sharing his love of the game with he guys. He was very proud of his Polish heritage; he enjoyed Polish music and dancing the Polka. Every morning, the radio at Dairy Queen was tuned to Dick Pillars Polkabration. Paul had a great love for his numerous nieces and nephews, not only through his immediate family, but also through his extended family. Paul was very civic minded, supporting countless organizations throughout Niantic, East Lyme, and Waterford. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, and he was a member of both the Lions Club and Democratic Town Committee. He was presented with numerous citations by many government officials for 60 years in his Dairy Queen business, and he was recently honored by the Little League of Niantic for over 40 years of sponsorship. Paul very rarely said No, whether it was lending a hand or offering his time to those in need. Friends and family are invited to call on , Dec 22nd from 5-8pm at the Neilan , 48 Grand St., Niantic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed, Dec 23rd at 12:00pm at St. Matthias Church, 317 Chesterfield Rd. East Lyme. Interment will follow at Union , Niantic. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Joseph Paul Bobinski Jr. Supplemental Needs Trust dated 28, 2014, 8344 Sweet Cherry Lane, Laurel, MD 20723.
