Obituary: Lynn Bradley Benjamin, 70 of Westbrook, CT. was called to heaven on 5, 2015. Lynn was born in Derby, CT. to Louis H. Bradley, Jr. and Elizabeth Downs Bradley of Orange, CT. and Brewster, MA. Lynn graduated from Amity Regional H.S. and attended Vermont . She was certified in blue print reading and worked as a technician at Contell Enterprise Computer. Lynn leaves her beloved daughter, Stacey Benjamin Higgins of Mooresville, N.C. sister, Carol Bradley Sullivan and her husband Richard, of Cape Cod, MA., her beloved partner of 29 years of Westbrook, CT. Albert Lavoie, her nephew, Bradley Downs Sullivan and wife Susan of Beverly, MA., niece, Julie Sullivan Lumbert and husband Christopher, of Falmouth, MA. She also leaves several dozen cousins. Lynn was predeceased by her brother, Sheldon Downs Bradley of Brewster, MA. Lynn was lovingly cared for by Laura Brisbois of Putnam, CT. for over 2 years, an amazing caring help to Lynn. Lynn loved family gatherings on Cape Cod, loved to swim and enjoyed walking the beach and fishing with Albert. Lynn loved to sing and had a great sense of humor and a hearty laugh. She was a diehard sports fan. We will all miss her with more than words can say. We commit her to her heavenly home where she is at peace and totally healed. Obituary: Benjamin (Junie), 58 years old, died at Riverside and Rehab Centre on 8, 2015 after a long illness. She leaves behind daughter Elisa Miller, mother Lorna Byfield, father George Benjamin, and numerous loving family and friends. , Junie as she was affectionately known, was born in Hayes, Clarendon, Jamaica. She was a loving, joyful, encouraging, talented person with a great sense of humour. She attended Gimme-Me-Bit Elementary School in Clarendon, Jamaica and later studied Dramatic Arts at the School of Drama in Kingston, Jamaica. She migrated to Rochester, New York, USA in 1978 and later moved to Florida where she married and had her daughter Elisa. She had a passionate love of poetry and her appreciation for African art was contagious. Junie loved to watch horror movies. Her aunt Joyce had to watch them with her. She loved her childhood pet dog Jack and was known to get up to all kinds of antics with him. Her uncle Percy recalls how she loved to sing and dance with him. She always broke into laughter when she saw him, even as she laid helpless in the nursing home. Her friend Michelle holds dear the memory of pulling into a parking lot, turning on the car radio, opening the car doors and her and Junie singing and dancing right there in the parking lot. Junies cousin, Jackie reflects on her ability to bring humour into any situation, uplifting all around her. Junies uncle Bradford cherishes his memories of growing up with her like brother and sister. He smiles when he recalls trying to get her to keep still as he took her to school on the handle bar of his bicycle. Her aunts Joyce and Hyacinth, as mothers themselves, reflects on Junies dedication to her daughter, Elisa. Even during the difficult times brought on by her illness, Junie never failed to love, provide for and do all she could to protect her daughter Elisa. Her commitment as a mother was one that all mothers could learn from. |

Obituary: BENJAMIN, JIM Jim Benjamin, 74, of Killingworth, Connecticut, passed away 21, 2015 at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, Florida, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Ticonderoga, New York on 8, 1941. He leaves behind his wife, Barbara Jones Benjamin, daughter Stacey Lee Benjamin of North Carolina, his loving Golden Retriever, Lily, brother and wife, Robert and Donna Benjamin of Ticonderoga, New York, nephews Robert C. Benjamin, Jr., Brad Benjamin and wife Brittney and great nieces Brooke and Braydee Benjamin. Jim received a Bachelors Degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was the Controller of the United Illuminating , New Haven, Connecticut, employed there for 42 years. In the past he was an advisor for Junior Achievement for many years. Jim has been a member of the Congregational Church in Killingworth for 33 years where he has served as trustee and moderator and an affiliate member of Burnt Store Presbyterian Church, Punta Gorda, Florida. Jim was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Clinton Flotilla for 11 years where he served as flotilla commander, taught boating safety classes, and was a vessel examiner. Jim was a competent captain aboard his Nordic Tug where he and his wife traveled the Great Loop around the eastern half of the United States. He loved playing golf, and the past few years enjoyed traveling in his motor home and spending winters in Florida. Jim was a great husband, father, brother, mentor, teacher, dear friend, and just a great guy to everyone he met. He was strong in his faith and in his love for God. Calling hours, evening, 18, 2015 at Swan , Clinton, Connecticut from 5-8. The Coast Guard Auxiliary plans the Crossing of the Bar Ceremony at 6:45. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Congregational Church in Killingworth, 19 at 11:00, followed by interment at Evergreen in Killingworth. Obituary: NORWICH - Gloria P. Benjamin, 90, died peacefully but unexpectedly at her home on May 30th. She was born on Oct. 2, 1924 in Gary, Indiana, graduated from Emerson High School there and soon thereafter married her beloved husband, David J. Benjamin. were married for 50 years before his passing. Gloria worked as Admitting Supervisor at Backus Hospital in Norwich until her retirement. She had a special love of her cats and wild life rescue. She is survived by her cousin, Shirley Fredrick, grandchildren; Michael Dobbins and Lynn Smolter, her adopted grandson; David Tedeschi, 9 great grandchildren and her special friend, Ella Fizer Gordon. Mary was born 31, 1936 in Lee, MA the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie (Oviett) Smith.
