Obituary: a brief illness, Jane Auman Burton went home to her Heavenly Father during the early hours of 19th. She had lived a full active life. Throughout her life, she was heavily involved in the ministries of Christ Central Church. She loved music and signing in the church choir. She was very involved in her childrens and grandchildrens lives. She was active in the parent student organizations while her children were in school and was involved in the creation of the school library at Eura Brown School and for 16 years with the Gadsden High School Band boasters. She was a 25 year volunteer with the Red Cross. She taught hand sewing and crochet around the community for several years. She and her husband John were active members of the Dixie Hi-Lo Camping Club and after his retirement enjoyed many camping trips with the club and by themselves. She was preceded in death by her parents Hank and Margaret Auman. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John R. Burton Jr. Children David (Louann) Burton, Laura (Rick) Brothers, Bruce (Nancy) Burton, Robert (Melanie) Burton , grandchildren Steve (Tiffany) Nelson, Wilson Abel, Amy Brothers, John (Anna) Nelson, Dirk Burton, Christopher (Jessica) Burton, Lauren (Jake) Pollard, Amy Burton, Robin (Matt) Ankerich, Kane Burton, Shelby (Trey) English, Brittney Burton and Rachel Burton and seven great grandchildren whom she dearly loved. The family would like to thank the staff at Gadsden Regional Hospital for the care they provided during her stay, to her special sister Jeannie White who sat with her during her illness and to the staff of McGuffeys care during her final days. The family will receive friends at Collier-Butler evening from 6 to 8 pm. She will lie in state from 12 noon until the 1pm service at Christ Central Church 409 West Grand Avenue, Rainbow City with graveside services and internment at Rainbow Gardens Memorial. Rev. Sherri Reynolds will officiate. The pallbearers will be her grandsons. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to the church of your choice or to the building fund of Christ Central Church. Obituary: Jack L. Burton, age 78 of Gardendale passed away on , 16, 2014. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading westerns and war books, but he mostly loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, brother, father, and grandfather who was loved and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary L. Burton. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna P. Burton; son Larry C. Burton (Mary Ann); daughter-in-law, Patty Burton; brothers, Virgil, Wayne (Verbie), and Gary (Ruth) Burton; grandchildren, Cara Martin (Jamie), Larry Burton, Jr. (Heather), Emily Chapple (Kevin), Lindsey Hodges (Terry), and Daniel Graham (Sandy); great grandchildren, Samantha Hodges and Devin Hodges; 24 nieces and nephews. Jack was a proud veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. serving his country he went to work for Hayes Aircraft (PEMCO). He then worked for nearly 40 years in the masonry block business, working for SuperRock, DeMarco, and Grasselli Block Companies. retiring he went to work with the cities of Gardendale, Morris, and Kimberly as a building inspector. Chapel funeral services will be held on , 22nd at Ridouts Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, 35071 at 2 PM with a visitation from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites.
