Obituary: 97, passed away peacefully and entered heaven joining her loving husband Fred on 23, 2015. Helen was born in Breslau, Germany on 12, 1917 and came to the United States when she was 8 years old(1925) with her parents and two sisters. She lived and worked in Chicago, Illinois where she met her future husband Fred Bauer. were married in 1939 and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1946. Helen was always an exceptional homemaker taking care of her family and preparing German dishes. Throughout life, she was committed to watching all sporting events and special interest activities of her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Watching the Arizona Diamondbacks along with listening to the music of Lawrence Welk were her great pastimes. She worked for 10 years as a cafeteria cook at Creighton Elementary School where she thoroughly loved putting her cooking skills to use for over 900 children. Helen is preceded in death by her husband Fred (2007) and her sister Elsa. Helen is survived by her sister Charlotte, sons Allen (Pat), Larry (Linda), 4 Grandchildren Craig (Cari), Lance (Karen), Whitney (Tony), and Ryan, 5 Great Grandchildren, Nick (Kara), Carli, Codi, Chase and Cainen. A private service will be held May 3, 2015 at Green Acres . Donations in Helen's memory may be made to Desert Oasis Hospice. |

Obituary: Earl William Bauer: 16, 1934 to 12, 2015 Earl William Bauer, Clarkdale, died peacefully on 12, 2015. He was 81 years old. Earl was born 16, 1934 in Sturgis, South Dakota to Claude and Mabel Bauer. Earl is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Ellie and his three children, Robyn Prudhomme-Bauer (Clarkdale), Mike Bauer (Cottonwood) and Eric Bauer (Centennial, CO). He also is survived by his son-in-law, Henri (Bud) Prudhomme and daughter-in-laws; Bonnie Bauer and Darcy Bauer, and his sister, Nancy Brown (Harbor OR) and brother, Dennis Bauer (Billings, MT). Five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren were proud to call him Grandpa. Earl was a graduate of Sturgis High School and received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Denver. Earl shared a rich life with his wife, Ellie. Together they raised their children in Denver, Colorado. Then they joined the Peace Corps and spent three wonderful years in Rampur, Nepal. Their next assignment with US Dept. of Agriculture took them to Yaounde, Cameroun, where they spent another three years. In their time overseas, they were able to travel to many parts of the world enjoying the cultures and people in each place they visited. In 1984, Earl and Ellie found their home in Clarkdale. bought a small cultured marble manufacturing facility, Alcora Marble. Their son, Mike, joined them in the business and eventually their daughter, Robyn became a part of the business too. As an employer, Earl, cared about the people who worked for him, he was tough but would go the extra mile to take care of them. Being a business owner was only a part of who Earl was, he also gave much to his community. He was a co-founder and the first president of the Clarkdale Chamber of Commerce. He worked on many projects in Clarkdale with pleasure and pride in what was accomplished. He also served as chair of Yavapai Private Industry Council (now known as Yavapai Workforce Development Council), and was Clarkdales representative for many years on NACOGs Economic Development Council. Earl was a gentle man and a little bit of a rascal. He was a man who always spoke his mind but was also a helping hand to many. He always liked a good conversation and on a regular basis over the past few years you would see him stroll down the street to his favorite places in downtown Clarkdale to have a cup of coffee, cookie and conversation with the BS (Brotherly Spirit) Club or whoever was hanging out on the street. Earl wished not to have any services. The family instead will have a gathering at his home in the spring when the weather is warm and all can enjoy his wonderful backyard. In lieu of flowers, contributions in the name of Earl Bauer can be made to Clarkdale-Jerome School for their arts and basketball programs. |
