Obituary: Donald Steven Buckendorf 13, 1925 ~ 11, 2011 Donald Steven Buckendorf of Greeley died , 11, 2011 at Kenton Manor. He was born 13, 1925 in Sligo, Colorado to Marvin E. and Edith E. (Lamar) Buckendorf. Donald was reared and educated in the Sligo and Briggsdale areas. his education, he helped with the family farming and ranching operations. He later farmed, drove truck and was a welder. On 19, 1943, he married Phyllis Janet Valentine, in Kimball, Nebraska. He and his wife owned and operated the Co-Op and Briggsdale Cafe for six years. He served the University of Wyoming for eight years at Farson and Laramie, Wyoming with livestock and agriculture coordination. moved to Greeley in 2004. Phyllis died 28, 2010. Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved participating in rodeo events for many years. Above all was the time he spent with his family. He is survived by his daughters Judy Schlotthauer (Rudy) of Eaton, Pam Yagadich (Ron) of Orchard and Connie Parker (David) of Laramie, Wyoming; sons Roy Buckendorf (Sandy) of Bullhead City, Arizona and Wilbur Bill Buckendorf (life partner, Cynthia Ewald) of Greeley; sister Virginia Johnston of Grover; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Jack Lee and Tim Buckendorf; a granddaughter Amy Lentz; a sister Mary Jane Nazarenus and a brother Erven Jiggs Buckendorf. Memorial contributions may be made to Kenton Manor in care of Stoddard , 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley, CO 80634. Memorial service 11 a.m. 15, 2011 at Stoddard . Private family inurnment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. |
