Obituary: Stephanie Leigh Bailey was born on 7, 1979 at Aurora Community Hospital. She received her K-12 education in the Denver area and graduated from Green Mountain High School in 1998. She spent a year at the University of Northern Colorado, then she got her Associate degree for Computer Sciences at Denver Technical . She also was a LPN. Music was a very big part of her life. She played almost every instrument during her school career, including the tuba her senior year in the marching band. She was also in the marching band at UNC in Greeley. She continued to play music the rest of her life. She was married to Bradley Bailey and together they were raising 2 children, Zachary and Samantha. Her dad, Steve Biggs and his wife Lola, and her mom, Patti Asselborn and her husband Dean still live in the Denver area. She was part of a very large family. Stephanies recent life consisted of helping her children achieve many goals. She helped with both kids scout troops, she coached Zachs Destination Imagination team and helped out with Sammys DI team. Sammys team made it to the global championships which Steph was able to enjoy with Samantha. She was involved with all of Zachs sporting teams. She had recently started promoting bands and was enjoying new adventures in the music business. Stephanie passed at Skyridge Hospital on 18, 2015. She will be missed by all and remembered by everyone! |

Obituary: SHELBY LEE BAILEY services for Cortez resident Pastor Shelby Lee Bailey will be held at 10 a.m. on , 13 at the First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Cortez . Shelby was born May 14, 1941 in Topeka, Kans. the son of Albert and Juanita Bailey. He passed away on , 9, 2017 at Vista Mesa Assisted Living at the age of 75. Shelby married Marcie Lue Hillegas in Pender, Neb. on 10, 1967. He was ordained as a minister on 15, 1967 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Shelby served many different communities and parishes during his ministry, including: Scherer Memorial Church in Chapman, Kans., Our Savior in Durant, Okla., St. Marks in Waterville, Kans., Greenleaf Church in Greenleaf, Kan., Faith Lutheran in Marcus, Iowa, and Peace Parish in Central, Kans. retirement, Shelby served at Trinity Lutheran Church in Farmington, N.M. and he actively participated in the First United Methodist Church in Cortez. Shelby faithfully took part in Silver Sneakers and he held various positions on the Board of Directors for Hospice of Montezuma. In his free time, Shelby enjoyed camping and putting together puzzles. Surviving Shelby are his daughters, DeAun Bailey (Mike McCormick) of Wheaton, Kans. and Teresa Brown-Sanchez (Melvin) of Cortez; his grandchildren, Justin Bailey Fronce, Beth Bailey Brown, Will Brown, Erin Brown, Traven Sanchez; 10 foster children; and by his sister, Linda Timmon (Charles) of Wichita, Kans. Shelby was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Marcie Bailey; and by his brothers, Robert and Allen Bailey. Obituary: Robert Scott Bailey (Bobby), 69, passed away on May 10, 2017. Bobby was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado. He graduated from Central High School and from Southern Colorado State with a degree in Electrical Engineering. As a teenager, Bobby played lead guitar in a neighborhood band with his friends. He loved children. Nieces and nephews would plead with their mom, "please let Uncle Bobby baby sit us"; and of course, he did! He would entertain them by playing the banjo and singing silly songs for them. He had a great sense of humor and a giant belly laugh. Bobby joined the United States Army in 1967. He saw combat in Vietnam as an infantry man. He carried an M-16 and later, because he was a large man, he was assigned to carry an M-60 machine gun. He was wounded, and was a recipient of a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Star and the Purple Heart. In 1976, he moved his family to Washington State. He was employed at Key Port Naval Nuclear Underwater Energy Warfare . One of his special assignments was to run diagnostics on the Mark 48 torpedo. During this time, he was especially proud of the home he designed and built. Bobby was also an avid outdoors man and he especially enjoyed boating and fishing on Puget Sound with his two sons. He retired from Key Port Naval Base in 1998. Bobby returned to Pueblo in 2000. He had many talents, and there was nothing he could not do. He was an avid reader, keeping up on the latest computer and electronic technology. He spent many hours working on his computer projects, and enjoyed acquiring new "gadgets" and "electronic devices." Bobby freely gave of his time and energy in helping others with their computer issues. He was a very generous individual. Bobby attended Praise Assembly of God Church; and loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind and strength. He loved to study and share Gods Word with family, friends and neighbors. His good friend and neighbor, Martin, stated that Bobby would literally spend hours sharing Gods Word with him. Bobby was always a phone call away from helping any and all of his church family. Bobby loved all of his little furry "kids." He had three dogs, Lola, Bear and Daisy Mae. He also had two cats, Samantha and Tiger. He and Connie were well known and appreciated for rescuing abandoned dogs and cats. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Pauline Bailey; son, Scott Michael Bailey; sister, Mary (George) Trujillo. Survived by his loving wife, Connie Cunico-Bailey; son, Briant (Tammi) Bailey; granddaughter, Spencer Bailey; Marie, mother of his two sons; brothers, Kenneth R. and Lawrence K. (Gidget) Bailey Jr.; sisters, Jean Daugherty; Joan (Jose) Solis; sister-in-law, Bonnie Gacnik; brother-in-law, Stanley (Meg) Gacnik; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a loving church family. Memorial Service will be held 8, 2017, at 11:00 a. m, at Praise Assembly Church, 2000 Troy Ave, Pueblo, Colorado, 81001. Officiant, Pastor Bobby Wilson. Family and friends are invited to share food and fellowship after the service in the activity center. |

Survived by wife, Carol; sons, Heath (Erin), Scott (Evette) and Jason; sisters, Carolee Saccomanno and Lovay (Bill) Messenger; sister-in-law, Sharron Abney; grandchildren, Miranda, Madison, Jed, and Isabel; his second family, dad and mom, Richard and Ernestine Gallegos; siblings, Yrene (Owen) Morgan, Richard (Brenda) Gallegos and Ramona (Rich) Huffman; niece and nephews, Jeremy, Ben, Timothy, Jennifer and Ryan and their families; and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Eileen Galloway; brothers-in-law, Frank Saccomanno and Larry Richwine. Bob was born to Lee and Agnes Bailey on 6, 1944, in Redding, Calif. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from the Pueblo Police Department after 25 years of service. Bob enjoyed being with his family, family gatherings, the Morning Coffee Club, working on his 1947 Chevy truck, finding bears for his 400 plus collection, and conversing with whomever would listen to him. He loved his dogs, Katie and Sugar Bear, and promised that when he arrived in heaven, all of the dogs previously loved on earth would be loved and cared for. Viewing, one hour prior to service. service, 10 a.m. , 8, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, 310 West 11th Street, with Pastors Eunjoo Yi and Doug Cox officiating.
