Obituary: Norman E. Blohm, 83, of Seymour passed away night, 2, 2014 at Appleton Medical . He was born 11, 1931 son of the late Harvey and Marion (Veitch) Blohm. On 28, 1951 he was united in marriage to Violet Surman at St. Johns Church in Seymour. Norm attended Seymour High School and worked for the Outagamie Highway Dept. where he retired at the age of 58. For 48 years he served on the Conservation Congress and was a Hunter Safety Instructor for 41 years and a 4-H Leader for 40 years. He was an avid gardener, hunter, fisherman and had a hobby of raising rabbits and other animals. He was survived by his wife, Violet; children: Kathie (Ron) Janz, Barbara (Dave) Gorecki, Julie Blohm (special friend Ed Vanden Langenberg), Norman Jr. (Chris) Blohm; grandchildren: Ronnie Janz, Stephen (Stephanie) Janz, Douglas Janz, Joshua Janz, Jason (Krystal) Gorecki, Brenda (Scott) Samson, Marc (Pang) Gorecki, Megan (Brian) Buczek, Beau Blohm; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-granddaughter; brother Vernon (Jean) Blohm; sister, Patricia (Jack) Rohloff; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Virginia Wachtendonk, Lavern (Chickie) Surman, Lavina Stephani, Verona (Jerry) Martin, Rosalie Schwietzer, Rosemary Burton. Obituary: Lois Doris Blohm, 67, of Seymour passed away , 19, 2015 at Appleton Medical with her family by her side. She was born 9, 1947, daughter of the late Clarence and Doris (Murray) Witthuhn. On 22, 1964, she was united in marriage to Gary Blohm. were married 3 days short of 51 years. Lois enjoyed going to Iola car shows, Harley Fests, Antiquing, and going to auctions with Gary and her son, Brian. She loved crocheting and knitting afghans for her family which she learned how to do from her mother. She also loved going to Arizona to visit her very good friend MaryAnn. Riding her horse, Zuni, taking car rides with her dog, Daisy. She also liked snowmobiling, going hunting with Gary, camping with her family and baking her sugar cookies at Christmas time and reading. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandsons. Lois was employed at Seymour Bakery, Big Boy restaurant in Green Bay, North Osborn Cheese, Chilton-Globe, and Fort Howard/Fort James. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Gary; son, Brian (Julie); grandchildren: Trisha (Clint) Klementz, JoAnn (Jeff) Kunick, and Jordan Blohm; great-grandsons: Isaac Kunick, Connor and Cole Klementz; brothers and sisters: Vernon (Tommi), Jerome, Lee (Patti) Witthuhn, Janice (Gary) Finder, Rose Ann (Jerry) Mueller; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ken (Sharon) Blohm and Kathy Blohm; one uncle, Lawrence Witthuhn; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, son, Terry and mother and father in-law. Obituary: Dons life journey ended, with family by his side, on 19, 2016. Even though he is gone from this earthly world, we find comfort in knowing his suffering is over. He was born in Appleton, Wisconsin to Frank and Mae (Schumacher) Blohm on May 5, 1927. His biological father left the family while Don was very young. That event forced his mother to take a job as a housekeeper with a gentleman by the name of Frank Koehler from Hortonville, Wisconsin. From that day forward Frank became the nurturing father figure to Don and years of learning and growing up on the farm on Winchester Rd. shaped Don into the hardworking and industrious man that he would become. the struggle with the Great Depression, the family moved to Appleton. Don enjoyed his participation in the Zion Lutheran Choir and continued to practice new tunes throughout his life (You Are My Sunshine and Cowboy Jack were two of his favorites). He continued to have remarkable whistling abilities up to his final days. He dabbled with guitar and harmonica and could still low a tune on the harmonica. Aside from raising his family, one of his proudest accomplishments was becoming a U.S. Marine during the WWII era. He sported a tattoo on each forearm to commemorate that time in his life. He served two terms with the United States Marines and in his later years he was able to go on the Old Glory Honor Flight with his granddaughter, Jenny, accompanying him. He graduated from the University of Hawaii, came back to Wisconsin where he held various important positions throughout his working years, including Food Queen and A.A.L. (now Thrivent). His knowledge about everything led him to be a valued instructor at Northwest Technical for several years. He was a member of several professional organizations that involved refrigeration and electrical activities. He retired from A.A.L. on May 31, 1987. his retirement, Don enjoyed various activities which included carpentry, fishing, hunting, coin collecting, and traveling. The countless projects he built, fixed, and created will be forever cherished by us. There was not one single thing that Don could not do. He did it all. In his later years, he enjoyed trips to the casino and long car rides. He loved to sit on the front porch and talk to the birds and squirrels and waved at all of the cars passing by. Don truly did have a passion and kindness for animals and had many furry friends through the years. Don is survived by six children; Linda (Mike) Probst, Julie Blohm (John Zehner), Donna (Randall) Glaser, Cynthia (Kim) Meidam, Randall (Karen) Blohm, and Ryan Blohm. He is further survived by grandchildren; Matthew (girlfriend Sandie) Probst, Sarah (Heath) Oelsen, Jessica (Scott) Craft, Jordan (Jill) Probst, Michelle Glaser, Shannon (Kelvin) Ayres, Christopher Nordstom, Cody Meidam, Kristen Blohm, Jenny (Leland) Secard and Paul Blohm. Also surviving him are great grandchildren; Aubree, Andrew, Adelin, Berklee, Preston, Makenna, Lydia, Sebastian, Cael, Gabriel, and Skyler. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Dietrich) Blohm, son Kevin, twin sons, David and Daniel, and brothers Carl (lone) Blohm and James Blohm, and grandchild Chad Glaser. A very special thank you to Theda at Hospice team; Dr. Jack Swanson, Nurse Mary Littiebrant, Melissa, and Ellen. Thank you to great friend Tony Kuehmstead (Arden) for the lovely rides and the yummy pecans. Thank you to Katie and her lovely pet therapy dog Oliver, and to Patsy Trickie who was an awesome friend. And a very special thank you to John Zehner who was the best friend that Don could have ever hoped for. Because of all of you, Don was able to stay in his own home and enjoy many fine times.
