Alice was born the daughter of Arthur and Lilly (Groth) Margelofsky on 20, 1926 in Williamstown, WI. Alice was united in marriage to Otto Bartsch on 19, 1945 at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Horicon, WI. Alice was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Knowles. While she was in Eagle River, she was a member of the Eagle River Senior and also spent much of her time volunteering with her husband through Vilas . In New London, together with her husband they were caretakers of New Londons Senior Housing. In her spare time, Alice enjoyed her time on the water in Eagle River with her friends and family. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning. Most of all Alice enjoyed spending time with and taking care of the ones she loved, her family. Alice is survived by: -her husband of 65 years, Otto. Her 5 sons; Rodney (Delores) Bartsch of Monterey, CA., Lon (Carol) Bartsch of Rhinelander, WI., Daryl (Dawn) Bartsch of Oakfield, WI., Doyle (Nancy) Bartsch of Williamstown, WI., and Terry (Ellen) Bartsch of Port Richey, FL., 2 sisters; Leola Roggenbauer and Patty (Jim) Bertel. 1 brother; Chester ( ) Margelofsky. 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; nieces & nephews, other relatives & friends. Obituary: Shirley Ann Barts (nee) Springstube, 80, of Hwy 32 Elkhart Lake, went to her heavenly home on , 5, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice where she was a resident for a brief period of time. Shirley fought a courageous battle and died peacefully with her family at her side. She was born on 20, 1930, the daughter of the late Clarence and Anna Hopfengartner Springstube. She was born and raised in Manitowoc, Wisconsin where she graduated from Lincoln High School. As a high school student she enjoyed working at the Tasty Krispy malt shop. In 1988 she married her loving husband, Martin, and they resided in their log cabin outside of Howards Grove. Shirley worked at the Kohler and retired in 1992, after working 25 years in the engine plant. Shirley was also very proud that she had opened the first used book store in Sheboygan, The Book Boutique, in 1981, which is now owned and operated by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Linda. Shirley was also a volunteer at the St. Nicholas Hospital Gift Shop. Shirley loved watching and feeding the birds, enjoyed her time at the casinos with her husband and friends, and enjoyed her two trips to Las Vegas. But most of all, she loved the time she spent with her grandchildren. Her most cherished times were the cousin days, when the grandchildren would all gather and play at her house. Their fondest memories are of the days they played at grandmas, the many rides she would give them as teenagers (which Grandma always knew and understood was quality time with teens), and the endless hours she spent talking with them on the phone and through email, just being a good listener and offering her sage advice. Their most cherished memories are of Christmas at grandmas, which always included special gifts for everyone. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Martin, her 7 children, Michael (Linda) Frasch, Barbara (James) Horneck, Lori Schoen, (John Schoen), Steven Frasch (special friend, Christine Renzelman), Sandra Bauer, Susan (John) Born, Sharon Romenesko ( Joe Schwiner); 11 grandchildren, Angela (Heath) Carpenter, Daniel (Duste) Horneck and Stacy Horneck, Amanda and Whitney Frasch (special friend, Andrew Bunge), Bradley and Melissa Born, Justin and Eric Bauer, and Nicholas and Megan Kunstman; 1 step-granddaughter, Michelle Prettie; 5 great-grandchildren, Kyle Carpenter, Sawyer Horneck, Derek and Felix Frasch, Oliver Kunstman; a sister and brother-in-law, Ron and Judy (Eppler) Jasper, four sisters-in-law, Laverne (Tom) Weber, Lucille (Melvin) Wilsing, Loretta (Gary) Fischer, Linda Grapentine, and LuAnne (Glen) Gerneniz; one brother-in-law, Marvin Barts, special friends, Lilly and Vernon Lawrentz, Ellie Hafner, Karen Hendricks, Lynn Carr, Ovrille and Doris Knoener, and many others. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Peggy Marie Frasch; great grandson, Chase Horneck; brother, Lloyd Stewie Springstube, her parents, a nephew, Stewie Springstube, and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Lindekugel and Pauline Bart;, two brothers-in-law, Fred Barts and Mike Grapentine. A Memorial Service in celebration of Shirleys life will be held at 1:00 p.m. , 9, 2011 at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Sheboygan where she was a member. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice , Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, and of Dimes for Babies. Shirleys family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Pao and Dr.Haid and the staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic for their kindness and care during Shirleys brief illness. also wish to acknowledge and thank the staff at Sharon S. Richardson for providing her with loving care. Shirley will always be remembered for her kindness and concern for others, her St. Vinnie treasures, but most of all for her love for her family always thinking of their safety and well-being.
