She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Wilson and Olma Macy Harwell; step-father, Edwin Whitley Harwell, and brother, Walter Wilson. Ms. Bonds is survived by her daughters, Andrea Leigh Allison and Lillian Marie Phillips; son, Chuck Torruella; grandchildren, Michelle "Mikki" Payne, Jennifer Torruella Tootle, Stewart Whitley Phillips, and Emily Stewart Torruella; great-grandchildren, Alexis Brianna Crawford, Caleb Benjamin Payne, and Beau Alan Tootle, and caregiver and friend, Shannon Maddox. Ms. Sue Bonds was born and raised in Trafford and was a member of Weaver Church of God for over 25 years. She enjoyed gospel music, reading, and Alabama football. Obituary: KENNETH JAMES BONDS, JR. May 26, 1935 – 1, 2015 Kenneth J. Bonds, Jr., 79, passed away , 1, 2015 at his residence in Huntsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth J. and Birdie Fuller Bonds, Sr., and his grandson, Michael Anderson. Survivors include his loving daughter, Debby Bonds-Pierce (Randall); 2 granddaughters, Kristina Bonds Chapman (Jonathan), and Nichole Bonds Black; sister, Nancy Hall of Indiana; great grandson, Connor Chapman; special friends, Jeanne and George Burris; several nieces and nephews and many other friends and relatives. Kenneth was a proud veteran of both the US Marines (4 years), and the US Army (over 22 years). He was also retired SFC who served in Korea, a member of the VFW, American Legion, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and other veteran organizations. He was a skilled woodworker and an avid clockmaker. Kenneth was quite good with his hands, and loved working in his shop, making clocks and working on his wood pieces while enjoying his Budweiser. Kenneth was greatly loved and will be missed by many! You may visit with the family on evening 6, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Valhalla . There will be a funeral service conducted by Bro. Obituary: Miss Geraldine Bonds Geri, age 87, of Gardendale, passed from this earthly life into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on 11, 2016. Geri was born in Hillview on Feb 3, 1929. graduation from Minor High School, she went on to work for several businesses including Wood Chevrolet, Perfection Bedding Co, and finally the Jefferson Teachers Credit Union. Her love of fashion and outgoing personality also led her to work for many years as a part-time sales associate for Parisian. Geri was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church and the Kingdom Seekers School Class, and a former member of Ensley Baptist Church. Geri was active for many years in the Civico Club where she made many life-long friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Meredith Bonds and mother, Ada Cowart Bonds; five brothers, Coleman, Olen, Alvin, Moxie and Ronald Bonds; eight sisters, Edith, Juanita and Virginia Bonds, Geneva Manning, Ailene Shipman, Joyce Fox, Jacqueline Lynn (her twin) and Gwendolyn Jones; brothers in law, Edward Manning, Buford Shipman, Dr. Walter Fox, Roy Lynn and Gene Jones; sisters in law, Hazel and Ernestine Bonds. Survivors include one sister in law, Paulette Bonds of Kimberly; 12 nieces and nephews. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Covenant Place of Gardendale, Healing Touch givers, and Hope Hospice for their loving care and support.
