Obituary: Roland Thomas Butler Jr. was born 13, 1937 in Jackson, Michigan. He passed away 25, 2013 with his family by his side, in Enumclaw, Washington. Tom served in the Navy from , 1955 to May, 1958, and then he joined the army (so he could jump out of airplanes), and served until , 1961. He was a proud veteran the rest of his life. Tom is preceded in death by his son Joseph. He is survived by his wife, Betty Nerland-Butler, sons; Thomas Butler, Daniel Pate, and Donald Pate; daughters; Cheryl Fletcher, Laurie Young and Debbie Wolfe; two brothers in law; sisters Evelyn Burpo and Sue Berry; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. |

Obituary: Roderick Anthony Butler passed away 8, 2015 in Bellevue Washington. A memorial service will be held 11am 29, 2015 at Overcomer Covenant Church, 33415 Military Road, Auburn, Washington. Rod was born May 10, 1958 in Los Angeles California where he attended Loyola Jesuit High School of Los Angeles; the oldest high school continuously run educational institution in Southern California. While attending Loyola Rod participated and lettered in football earning a scholarship to play football at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. He was a letter winner in 1979 and 1980. Graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Design. He then attended the of Architecture and Planning at CU's Denver campus graduating with a Master's of Art in 1980. Rod also attended The Developers Executive Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, For Real Estate in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1993. He married his college sweetheart, Kimberle Mae Jackson on 14, 1984 in Denver, Colorado. relocated to Los Angeles, California where he followed in the footsteps of his father and worked for the Los Angeles Engineers for two years. He then formed 'Butler and Forbes' architectural firm in Los Angeles. Rod was licensed to practice architecture in California, Washington and Colorado where he designed and built million dollar custom homes and affordable housing complexes for the City and of Denver and in various communities in California and Washington. In 1988 their oldest daughter Kaitlin Elizabeth-Jackson Butler was born followed by their second daughter Nicolle Alessandra Butler in 1994. Subsequently Rod relocated his family to Bellevue, Washington where his company evolved into a full service design firm now known as N3 Architects; specializing in multi- family affordable housing, mixed - use commercial buildings and senior housing. Like Rod, the firm is visionary in its approach, creative and thoughtful in its design for the residents and their surrounding community. Rod's passion for architecture was only second to his wife, Kim, and daughters Kaitlin and Nicolle who were the foundation of his life. Rod's most singular joy was to see both of his daughters, Kaitlin and Nicolle, graduate from the University of Washington which they did in (2011) and (2013) respectively. Rod is survived by his wife Kimberle Mae Jackson-Butler, two daughters, Kaitlin Elizabeth-Jackson Butler, Nicolle Alessandra Butler, mother Ella Butler, sister Valerie K. Love, nephew Marcus, niece Morgan, mother in law, Nancelia Elizabeth Jackson, brother-in-law, Hon. Gary M. Jackson (Regina), brother-in-law, Larry M. Jackson (Jennifer), sister-in-law Sylvia Smith-Jackson, nephew Jamal B. Jackson (Jamylah), niece Maya B. Jackson-Moye' (Bryan), great nephews, Myles, and Parker Jackson and great niece Phoenix Moye'.
