Obituary: Celia Faye (Greenwood) Buck was born 5, 1928 in Creston, Washington to Della (DeBord) and Elsie Greenwood joining three older sisters: Naomi, Bonnie, and Rena. Being part of a musical family, she soon began to sing with her sisters for church services and family functions, and after learning to play the piano she accompanied her fathers old time fiddling group with her sisters. Over the years, they entertained at picnics, banquets and many local events. She attended Creston schools and shortly after graduating, moved to Davenport with her retiring parents. She began her career for the local ASC Office at that time, which gave her a chance to work with farmers throughout the county. On 26, 1949, she married Richard Buck at the Greenwood home in Davenport, Washington. With a young family, they moved to Othello and then Kennewick where Dick operated his own businesses with Shell Oil and she worked for the school district. ten years, they came back to Davenport where she was happy to return to work at the ASC Office, Dick worked for Lincoln and both children graduated from Davenport schools. For a number of years they enjoyed a vacation home at Seven Bays, Washington. When Celia retired after 30 years of service with the government, they traveled to Yuma, Arizona as snowbirds for nine years. She was a life-long member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport and was a charter member of The Sewing Club which was started in the late 40s. She completed beautiful needlework, enjoyed her piano and music from old hymnals, collected and traded special recipes (mostly for desserts), and kept up with friends, some from her high school years. Her last few years were spent at Serene Meadows where she received wonderful care and attention. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter Diana (Tom) Makins of Gig Harbor, Washington, and her son Gary (Sharon) Buck of Davenport, Washington; Three grandchildren, Kellee Makins of Seattle, Jeremy (Rosie) Buck of Airway Heights, and Michelle (David) Musgrave of Spokane; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Buck, Joseph Buck, and Brady Musgrave, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on , 8, 2016 ay 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport, WA with Pastor Jim Stern, officiating.
