Obituary: Jack Edward Barrett, 27, 1927 - 9, 2011. Born in Gowanda, New York. Jack passed away peacefully at Retsil VA , Wa. He will be dearly missed by his loving daughters; Sharon Wrench (Dave), Karen Zellinsky (Bryan), Deborah Doyharcabal (Chris), Lisa Schell (Pat), Michelle Hall (Roland), his sister Arline Bobsein, step-daughters Eleanor Gibbs & Sarah Jo Hendrix,16 Grandchildren, 6 Great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by his father Harold Barrett (1995), his mother Lillian P. Barrett (1976), his loving wife of 45 years Marilyn Hubacher Barrett (1993), and second wife of 13 years to Sarah H. Barrett (2007). Jacks intuition for new technology allowed him to travel the country as a systems engineer, working for Bailey Meter Co., Macmillan Bloedel and Weyerhaeuser where he later retired in Columbus, MS in 1994. Jack always put family first, loved golf, travel, photography & electronics. Services will be held at Miller Woodlawn on Feb 14th. Graveside Burial Service at Holy Cross , Gowanda, NY on Feb 16th. Obituary: OBITUARY FOR GLENN PATRICK BARRETT Birthdate 17, 1924 Date of death 13, 2016 Pat was born in Spokane, Washington to Irene Davidson Barrett and Glenn G. Barrett. He was raised in Libby Montana in the home of his beloved Swedish grandmother Ida Holmquist. He served in the Navy in World War II, and was on the USS Mississippi in the South Pacific in 1942. He graduated from Montana State in Bozeman, with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the college ski team. He paid his way through school by playing clarinet and saxophone in his own band called Pats Band. He married Mary Dorhman in 1951 and had six children: Robert, Bill, Glenn, Keith, Sheila and Barbara. He has several grandchildren. He worked as an engineer at Zonolite, Pet Milk, and helped to build a factory in Maine. He was the owner of SteamVac company in Aspen, Colorado. His second wife Marge was unfortunately deceased of lung cancer, he cared for her during her long illness. In the 1970s and 1980s he was employed by the Aspen Ski Corporation. Pat was an avid skier, ski instructor and world traveler. He also enjoyed piloting his own 183 Cessna plane, golfing, tennis, chess and poker. In 1983 he married Wyvona Luman James of Carbondale, Colorado. He was a wonderful husband, and very supportive step-father and grandfather. Life was filled with friends, family and adventures. moved to Seattle in 2004 to be close to family. He became a docent at the Museum of Flight. His health deteriorated in 2007, and this required him to reside at Park West later in the year. He became the editor of the facility newsletter called Connections, and chairman of the Poker Club. Pat passed away with respiratory failure, after several months of a valiant struggle against neuropathy, at the hospital on 13, 2016. His wife, step-daughter and grandson were at his side. A private ceremony, A Celebration of Life, will be shared with close family and friends, during the first week of in Seattle, at the home of his step-daughter Jennifer James. If anyone would like to donate to a charity in Pat's honor, the family requests donations to the Seattle Holocaust Museum. Thank you A memorial service will be held in in Marble, Colorado. Obituary: Fred passed away peacefully at home on 6th, 2017 at the age of 96. He was born in Canon City CO to P.A. Barrett and Maude Walker Barrett and married his love, Dolly Gerlene Sharp, on 24, 1940. lived on ranches in Colorado and Idaho before settling in Modesto, CA, where he worked as a maintenance engineer in the sand and gravel business, all the while keeping horses and eventually cattle. He had always loved horses and the life of a rancher. His prize possession in his youth was a registered palomino quarter horse named Rainy Day Dude. He kept the foal, Rainy Day Nugget, for his son, Fred Jr., to support his desire to be a cowboy, and was proud to see him succeed. He and Gerlene bought a ranch on the Tuolumne River in Modesto which they aptly named Peaceful Valley. His children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless friends loved spending time with them at the ranch. Fred enjoyed helping many people learn to ride and care for horses. continued to raise cattle and horses on that ranch until 2012 when they moved to Vancouver WA to be near family due to failing health. He is deeply missed by all who knew his sweet smile and gentle nature. He maintained his sense of humor through pain and illness and enriched the lives of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed. His memory is a treasured blessing. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Nina, and by daughters-in-law Diana Jean Latham and Ronna Graves. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 76 years, Dolly Gerlene; his children Fred R. Barrett Jr., Patricia Dove, and Dani Nierenberg; grandchildren Laurie Barber, Mark Barrett, Ryan Newhouse, Joshua Nierenberg, Craig Dove, Mark Dove, Sandy Dove; great-grandchildren Ashley Rush, Hannah Dorsey, Caleb Barber, Nicholas Dove, Charlotte Thomas, Clint Dove, Jake Dove, Elise Dove; sons-in-law Don Dove and Ron Nierenberg; his cherished sister, Lana Wilson of Durango, CO and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. under the direction of Vancouver Chapel, Vancouver, WA. |
