Obituary: RACHEL ALICE BAARS (JANUARY 1918 - JANUARY 2017) Rachel Alice Baars, born in Dayton, WA in 1918, passed away peacefully at her home in Curtis, WA in 2017 at the young age of 99. Rachel was raised in Puyallup, WA and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1937. She was one of 3 children born to Glen & Julia Magaw. She married Raymond Baars on her birthday in 1942 and was happily married for 51 years until Raymonds passing in 1993. She had three sons, Tom, Bob and Tim; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Rachels love of life was what drove her to her 99th birthday. She was one of the strongest women most have met, especially her strong spirit, love of family, and always putting others ahead of herself. Her loves, in addition to family, included her animals (cats and dogs), gardening, sewing and working on her photos. Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing at the Powers , Sumner, WA from 0900 to 1030, , 28th, followed by a graveside service beginning at 1100 at the Sumner . Additionally, a celebration of her life will be held at the Boistfort Grange (995 Boistfort Rd), located near her Curtis home. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be sent to your local SPCA (Humane Society) due to her love of animals, or a charity of your choice. |

Obituary: Charis Lorraine Baack Charis Lorraine BAACK 23, 1925 ~ 15, 2009 Charis Baack passed away at the Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland, WA. of natural causes. She was 84. She was born in Blue Earth, Minnesota to Cecil and Cora Yetter. The family moved to Blaine, WA. where she grew up and graduated from high school. She married David G. Barber in 1944. moved to Renton, WA. and raised their two children there. She was an avid gardener with rhododendrons and dahlias being her favorite. She also loved to dance, sometimes going 2 to 3 times a week. She was preceded in death by David in 1965. She met and married Rudolf Baack in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Reeve of Redmond, WA. and her son and daughter-in-law, David and n Barber of Port Angeles, WA. She also has 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The memorial service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park and on , Nov 28, 2009. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m., service at 12:00 p.m. and graveside service at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Greenwood , Renton, WA. |
