Obituary: James M Bloodworth, 92, died peacefully at his home in Trussville, AL on Nov 22, 2015. He was born in Decatur, AL on Nov 22, 1922. He served in WWII as a 2nd class Radio Operator on several different Liberty ships from 1943- 1945. He was employed by AT&T for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Perry Bloodworth, four children, Beth Potts (David) of Marion, AL, Jim Bloodworth (Lucy), Vicki Chiarella (Jerry), and Beverly Hudgens (Ron), and one sister Margaret Puckett of Decatur, AL. He was "Papa" to 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren and will be missed by all of them. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers for the special attention they provided during the past year and family and friends for the support and prayers during this difficult time. Visitation will be , Nov 25 at 10:00am with the service at 11:00am at McElwain Baptist Church. Burial will be at the National in Montevallo. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Judson , 302 Bibb Street, Marion, AL 36756, McElwain Baptist Church, or McElwain Christian Academy. |

Obituary: Charles R. Charlie Bloodworth, age 102 of Montgomery, AL, passed away , 25, 2016. Mr. Bloodworth retired from the United States Air Force where he was an Aerial Combat Photographer and a Special Agent, Office of Special Investigation (OSI). Along with his duties in the military, Mr. Bloodworth had a passion for recreational photography as well as flying and Alabama Football. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, McCain Bloodworth; and his son, Charles Dennis Bloodworth, Sr. Survivors include his grandchildren, Charles Dennis (Karen) Bloodworth, Jr. of Dallas, GA, Julie (Max) McCoy of Watkinsville, GA, Kevin (Nancy) Bloodworth of Ottawa, Canada, Scott Bloodworth of Atlanta, GA; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Diane Bloodworth; his brother-in-law and best friend, Bobby McCain; and other relatives and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers through Instead of Montgomery, AL. The visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM, , 27, 2016 at Leak Memory Chapel. Obituary: Joan Pardue Blomeley, loving wife of 50 years and mother of three, went to be with the Lord continuing her life of faith on 12, 2015. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama to James I. and Lucile Pardue on May 27, 1937. Joan attended Shades Valley High School, worked for Standard Brands in Birmingham, and Equifax in Atlanta, Georgia before retiring to Birmingham. She was preceded in death and welcomed to Heaven by her parents, brothers James I. Pardue, Jr. and William O. (Gwen) Pardue. She is celebrated and survived by her loving husband George W. Obituary: services for Peter van der Blom, 88, of Oxford, will be held at 2:00 pm, , , 15, 2014, at Gray Brown-Service with Rev. Amy DeWitte officiating. Burial will follow at Highland . The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr. van der Blom was a native of the Netherlands, born 29, 1925 in Zanndam, Holland and served as a jet fighter pilot in the Dutch Royal Air Force prior to making his home in Anniston in 1954. He retired from the Planning Department of the Anniston Army Depot in 1988 after 29 years and was a 14th degree Mason. Pete passed away at his home, Panarama Ranch, on , 10, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife Clara Margaret van der Blom, brothers John and Jerry van der Blom. Always the avid pilot, he served as Squadron Commander in the Civil Air Patrol of Calhoun , owned and operated Cheaha Flying Service, at the Talladega Motor Speedway, and was dubbed by his friends "The Flying Dutchman". Along with his love of flying, his many hobbies included playing the organ, traveling, golfing, snow skiing, raising cattle, hosting local little league baseball and following Alabama football as their #1 fan. He was a long time member and Deacon at Dodson Presbyterian Church in Oxford. Survivors include his wife, Alline van der Blom; daughters, Margret(Meg) Sapp and Dina Birch (Richard); son, David(Brandy) van der Blom (Tanya); step-children, Debra Martin (Kenny), Jan Parton (Tony), Tammie Cook (Chris); grandchildren, Lindsey, Jess, Wes, Piet, Diny, Marty, Katy, Elizabeth, Peter, and Jason; step-grandchildren, Tristian, Kayla, and Christy; great grandchildren, Ayden, Skylar, Bear, and Collun; step-great grandchild, Wyatt; sister, Dina Wood; niece, Margret Ann Boozer-Strother and nephew, David Edward Boozer and 12 nieces and nephews in Australia and London; caregivers, Michele Goss and Dorothy Boozer. |
