Obituary: Mrs. Wilma Marion Bergeret (86) of Ruckersville, VA went to be with God and Family on May 28, 2015 at 1730 hours. She had been successfully treated for Lymphoma, but in the end succumbed to carcinoma meningitis. In addition to her parents Fred A. Stover and Wilma Caroline (nee Knorr) Stover she was predeceased by one great grandson Sam Parker. Wilma was a lifelong active member of the ELCA Lutheran faith and belonged to Peace Lutheran Church of Charlottesville, VA. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Gaston F. Bergeret, Son Gregory F. Bergeret (Sun-Bun), Granddaughter Giselle F. Bigley (Mark), Great Granddaughters Abigail G. and Evangeline F., Granddaughter Gabrielle F. Bergeret, grandson Geoffrey F. Bergeret - U.S. Army, Daughter Pamela J. Bergeret-Peterson (Morris), Grandson’s Matthew W. Peterson (Johnesa) and William-Allen Peterson, Daughter Michelle M. Bergeret Simpson, and Granddaughter Damaris M. Bergeret Parker (Dominic) great granddaughter Riku W. Parker and Granddaughter’s Francesca F. Bergeret Simpson and Sophia E. Gaez. Her wish was to be cremated and her ashes spread at sea over the Atlantic Ocean. Obituary: Gaston Felix Edouard Bergeret, born 6, 1923, of Ruckersville, passed away at the age of 94 on , 11, 2017 at 8:26pm with his daughter Pamela holding his hand at the University of Virginia Medical . Mr. Bergeret was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Wilma on May 28, 2015. Mr. Bergeret was born in Algeria a French Occupied Territory, when he was old enough he served in the Free French Air Force in Egypt and North Africa during WW-II. the defeat of the Afrika Corps he was sent to the US to airfields in Alabama and Mississippi to train Free French, Polish, and other aviators in aircraft gunnery and other skills he learned the hard way. the war he joined the US Merchant Marine so he could get back to the USA. He sailed to Europe, the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea and the Arabian (Persian) Gulf. He also participated as a Merchant Seaman in Operation Chromite, the invasion of Inch'on during the Korean War, and the evacuation of the Chosin Reservoir survivors from the port of Hungnam in North Korea. Having married Wilma on 11, 1951, about a year later he was able to stay on shore and leave the ships behind. He worked as a baker, until he was able to get an apprenticeship at the US Navy Brooklyn Navy Yard where he apprenticed and became a skilled tradesman in plumbing, pipefitting, and coppersmithing. When the Brooklyn Navy Yard closed in 1966 he took the family to North Olmsted, Ohio. He worked for the Ford Motor , Cleveland OH, at Engine Plant No.1/No. 2 and the Cleveland Casting Plant until his retirement after 25 years of service in 1991. He is survived by his younger brother, Jean-Jacques Bergeret, a married Son with 3 Children and 2 Great-Grandchildren. Daughter Pamela J. Bergeret-Peterson (Morris), Grandson’s Matthew W. Peterson (Johnesa) and William-Allen Peterson, Daughter Michelle M. Bergeret Simpson, and Granddaughter Damaris M. Bergeret Parker (Dominic) great granddaughter Riku W. Parker, great grandson Paul W. Parker and Granddaughter’s Francesca F. Bergeret Simpson and Sophia E. Gaez. His wish was to be cremated and his ashes spread at sea over the Atlantic Ocean. Obituary: Richard Godfrey Berger, 78, of Lynchburg passed away , 24, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Ann Reaves Berger. Born in Lynchburg, 16, 1936, he was the son of the late John Albert Berger and Elizabeth Wisecarver Berger. He was retired from the U.S. Army National Guard, the Virginia Department of Transportation and was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church and was a member of the Mackey Masonic Lodge #69. He is survived by one son, David A. Berger of Lynchburg; one daughter, Rebekah A. Daughtry and her fiancé Leagene N. Alexander of Lynchburg; one sister, Mary Berger of Orange; four grandchildren, Michael W. Goff, Haleigh A. Daughtry, Catherine Abbi Berger and Chelsie A. Berger and a special friend of the family, Frances Lewis. A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. , 4, 2015 at Heritage United Methodist Church with the Rev. Will Montgomery officiating. The family will host a reception following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Centra Hospice, 3300 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24503 or to the Alan B.
