Obituary: Burton Delbert Bushman Burton Delbert Bushman, 87, passed away on , 23, 2006, at his home in Provo, Utah. He was born in Mesa, Arizona, on 20, 1919, to Virgil and Ruth Bushman. He and his six brothers learned to work and also to enjoy each others company on their ranch in Winslow, Arizona. He served a Japanese Mission in Hawaii, and was in Honolulu during the Pearl Harbor attack. He had many interesting experiences, one of which was teaching and baptizing Sam Shimabukuro, who later became a General Authority. his mission he returned to BYU where he met his future wife, Frances Meaker. their marriage they moved to Oxnard, California, where he began a construction company. He built many homes, warehouses, a shopping mall, and other buildings. adopted three children prior to the death of Frances in 1960. He later married Thelys Clinger, and they adopted four more children. Burton was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and has held many positions in the church, including those of bishop and patriarch. He did temple work for many years, both in the Los Angeles and Provo Temples. He and his wife served missions in Taiwan and in the Dominican Republic, and they also served for a number of years in the Missionary Training . For some time he was on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross in Provo, and he was affiliated with the Kiwanis Club for years. He had integrity, a good work ethic, and a strong testimony. He was a caring husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Thelys; his seven children: Robert (Renae) and Richard (Rosa) of Provo; Frank (Heather) of St. George; Samuel (Julie) and Joshua (Wendy) of American Fork; Jeannine (Calvin) Holsinger of Mansfield, Texas; and Elaine (Paul) De Arcos, of Oxnard, California, 31 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a brother, Burl (Charlene) of Camarillo, California. services will be held , 27, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Edgemont Stake , 303 West 3700 North, Provo. Family and friends may call evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 85 East 300 South, Provo and from 9:45-10:45 am. prior to the services at the stake center. Interment will be held at the East Lawn Memorial Hills , Provo. |

Obituary: Robert Heeson Bushell 8, 1933 – 19, 2012 Robert Heeson Bushell died peacefully during the morning of 19, 2012. His loving daughters were by his side with his son encouraging from Las Vegas. Bob was born 8, 1933 in Provo, Utah to his parents Herbert Edwin and Jane Heeson Cottingham-Bushell. He was the youngest of 6 children. He was raised in the Provo area and attended Provo schools. He also attended Central Utah Vocational School. In 1953, Bob entered into the Army and served in Germany during the Korean War. Upon his return to the United States, he met and married the love of his life; Florence Roberta Kirkwood. were married in 1956. Bob and Roberta purchased a home in Orem, Utah and started raising a family. had 4 children; Kristine, Pauline, Blaine and Annalee. Bob started working at Geneva Steel, where he worked for 37 years. He was also a volunteer fireman for Orem City for many years. Bob and Roberta loved to spend their time camping, hunting and fishing. eventually purchased land in Sanpete to build a cabin on. This became their safe haven for many years. In 1999, Bob and Roberta moved from Orem to Mt. Pleasant, to settle down in their retirement home. Roberta passed away in 2009 and some of the lights went out for Bob. In 2010, Bob met Carolyn Christensen and they were married in 2011. Bob is survived by his wife Carolyn; his children: Kristine (Daniel) Day, Pauline (Dennis) Brinck, Blaine (Valerie) Bushell, and Annalee (Lance) Peacock; his sister Doreen Whiting; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. There will be a viewing held for Bob on , 23, 2012 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. This will be held at the Mapleton 8th Ward building, 1215 North 1100 West, Mapleton Utah. Robert will be interred next to Roberta in the Provo City . Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.walkersanderson.com. The family wishes to thank the many wonderful friends and neighbors who have been a great support to him during these last few years. And a special thank you to the staff of CNS and Hospice Agency. |
