Obituary: Anna Laurine Steere Johnston Burmeister Nov 7, 1913 – Jun 6, 2011 Anna Laurine Steere Johnston Adams Burmeister, 97, our loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully 10, 2011, due to complications of age. She was born 7, 1913, in Junction City, Kansas, to Edison and Zoetta Mae Bame Steere. Anna was the oldest of four children and learned to farm, working side by side with her dad. She loved the outdoors and spent much of her youth riding and taming horses. She was a skilled hunter, learning to shoot a gun at a very young age. She shared that love with her own children and continued to hunt until the age of 87. Anna learned homemaking skills from her mother. She loved to cook, sew, crochet, garden, quilt and make candy. She was known for her homemade cherry chocolates that her friends and family received each Christmas. She also crocheted afghans for all of her grandchildren. Anna graduated from Junction City High School in 1930. She became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 11, 1942. She served faithfully in all her callings. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Hans Burmeister, to whom she was sealed. She is survived by her brother, Arnold Steere, of Santaquin; three sons, Kennith Kay (Barbara) Johnston, of Phoenix, Arizona; Wesley Howard (Judy) Johnston, of St. George, Utah; Ronald Raymond (Cesear) Johnston, of Gilmer, Texas; and one daughter, Zoetta Anne (Dennis) Paxman, of Spanish Fork; 21 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great- grandchildren. services will be held 18, 2011, at the Aspen Meadows 3rd Ward chapel located at 1600 S. 1400 E. in Spanish Fork at 1:00 p.m. A viewing will be held that morning at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. services, she will be laid to rest at the Orem in Orem, Utah.
