Obituary: Robert E. Buckley Robert Eugene Buckley was born on 25, 1922 in Rio, Wisconsin and died 5, 2015. Bob lived life to the fullest and was always looking for the next great adventure. He is survived by his wife and traveling companion of 63 years, Mildred. Bob is also survived by his three children, Deborah Matticks (Lance), Randy Buckley (Ginny), and Ronald Buckley (Jennifer); seven grandchildren, Andrea Barentsen (Chris), Benjamin Buckley (Katie), Erika Buckley, Trent Buckley, Michael Matticks (Nicki), Joshua Matticks, and Elizabeth Buckley and two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Emma Barentsen. Bob proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Ranger during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He came home to a job as a mining engineer with Kennecott Copper Corporation in Ruth, Nevada. He met Mildred, they were married six weeks later on 21, 1952 and began their great adventure together. adopted their three children and spent at least two weeks every summer camping with the Wisconsin Buckleys. were transferred to Salt Lake City in 1965. Bob was very active in little league baseball as a coach and involved in Boy Scouts as a leader. Bobs philosophy was that every boy participated and he made sure that happened. A beer at the minor league baseball game was a favorite thing. Bob and Mildred were long-time supporters of the Utah Jazz and have had season tickets since the beginning. He was also a lifetime Green Bay Packers fan. Bob retired from Kennecott in 1982 after 40 years and began the real adventure! For the last 32 years Bob and Mildred traveled to many parts of the world and criss-crossed the United States, Mexico and Canada in their Motorhome. Bob could have probably told you exactly how many miles they put on each of their motorhomes - it was in the many thousands. Four years ago they decided to give up their house and the many chores associated with it, and move into a retirement apartment. This was not just any retirement apartment; this was one which had over 200 sister communities which offered rooms for travelers. This way they could continue their travels with ease-Bob was always thinking ahead to the next adventure! Bob was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church since its beginnings in the mid-60s. He had been a school teacher, usher, active participant in the camping group, Games Night and Grumpy Old Men (you know who you are). Please join the family on , 9th at 7:00 pm at St. James Church, Midvale (7486 S Union Park Ave, Midvale, UT 84047) for fellowship and storytelling. Obituary: FERN MAE ANDERSON JOFFRAY BUCKLER 1917 – 2011 Fern Mae Anderson Joffray Buckler passed away on 4 2011. She was born on 7 1917 in Woodward, Oklahoma. She was the last child of Henry Ely Anderson and Eliza Frances Smith. Her mother died when Fern was three years old. Fern then lived in Woodward with her father, one sister and four brothers. When she was about thirteen she moved to Junction City, Kansas where she lived with her oldest married sister and attended high school. She married a horse-cavalry soldier, Eugene Anthony Joffray, in 1935. were blessed with a son and two daughters, Gary Alan , Jeanne Ann, and Carole Sue Joffray. the second World War they were divorced. She worked as a home care-giver for seniors. She met and married George Edward Buckler, Jr., on 18 1972 in Enon, Ohio. George died on 8 1973 and Fern never remarried. She continued life in Junction City until she moved to Kaysville, Utah in 1986 to be near her daughters. In 1992 she moved to Orem, Utah where her daughter Jeanne had moved. Fern loved her independence and her family. She loved cats, reading, playing cards and Rumicub with family members and family reunions with her siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Gary (Dorothy), and her two sisters and four brothers: Hazel Christensen (Guy), Mabel Fuqua (Carl), Errol Ray Anderson (Orel), Francis Anderson (Edith), and Clarence Anderson (Helen). She is survived by her two daughters, Jeanne Ann Buxton (Val), and Carole Sue Larsen, 10 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2009 she broke her hip and had to be cared for at Orchard Park in Orem until her death. The family extends their appreciation for the professional care given by the many staff members there. Graveside services will be provided at the Walker Sanderson , 646 East, 800 North, Orem, Utah, on 7 2011 at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be at that location between 10:00 AM and 10:45 AM prior to the service. |

Obituary: Sheldon Alva Buckalew Sr. 1922 ~ 2015 Sheldon Alva Buckalew Sr, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2015. Sheldon was born 7, 1922 in Magna, UT to James Blaine Buckalew and Grace Alva Despain. He married Annabella Ungricht on 25, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served in the Marine Corps in World War II and was in the South Pacific and China. He also worked for Kennecott Copper Smelter as a carpenter for 38 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son; Sheldon Jr., two brothers, two sisters, and one great granddaughter. He is survived by his son; Larry (Susan) Buckalew, his sister; Lawana, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Special thanks to the VA Hospital and Carrington Square Assisted Living for all their help and support. Graveside Services will be held on , May 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4440 West 4100 South, West Valley City.
