Obituary: Genevieve Ingram Bennett 1925 ~ 2010 On 17, 2010, with a blazing, glorious sunset, surrounded by her loving family, Genevieve Ingram Bennett was peacefully freed from her earthly ties. She was born on Christmas Eve in 1925, as she was in a hurry to join her older siblings (Erma Ruth, Elliott and Anna) for all the Christmas fun. She was named for both her parents (Vernon and Genevieve Ingram) as they thought she might be the last, but was later joined by another sister and brother (Frances and Robert). She was raised in this loving family in Dallas, Texas. There she attended the local schools where she excelled. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1947 with a degree in education. It was during her time there, that she was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was baptized on 1, 1945. She has cherished the Gospel and has remained faithful to her Savior until the very end serving wherever asked. She survived the great snowstorm of 1948 during her first winter in Utah, and somehow spent the rest of her life here. She taught school in Salt Lake City as a junior high math teacher, and continued to teach as a substitute teacher throughout the Granite School District, and especially at Olympus High School, until retirement. She married Clyde Reeve Bennett on 19, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. She enjoyed serving with Clyde for years as temple workers and as volunteer service missionaries at the State Prison. Genevieve and Clyde raised their three children in Holladay, where she lived the last fifty years among wonderful friends and neighbors who she dearly loved. She blessed us all with her knitting, crocheting, needle work and cake making. She loved to read and loved to learn, traits she bequeathed to her children. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, parents and three older siblings and survived by her children: Carolyn (Valeriano) Ugolini, Keith (Cindy) Bennett, and Julie (Lon) Halterman, and her sister, Frances Grimes and brother, Robert E.L. (Gerry) Ingram, as well as many nieces and nephews. She loved and is loved by her eight grandchildren: Sharon, Allyson (Stefano), Avrina, Lon B, Nisha, Alex, Lora, and Priya. She was especially proud of her two missionary grandsons currently serving in India and West Virginia. She was also blessed to see the rise of the new generation with two great-grandsons, Linus and Henry. services will be held at 1:00 pm on , 22nd at the Holladay LDS Stake , 4568 South Holladay Blvd. A viewing will be held on Nov. 21st from 5-7 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah and , one hour prior to services at the church.
