Obituary: Gloria Matoska Burk, 84, of Pflugerville, passed away on , 28, 2015. Born 5, 1930 in Thrall, Texas, Gloria was the daughter of Willie Paul and Annie Christina Juricek Matoska. She was raised on a farm outside of Round Rock, graduated from Round Rock High School, and was proud to be a country girl. Gloria was very musical and played piano and accordion in her family's band called Uncle Billy's Playboys, which was made up of her father, three brothers and only sister. Uncle Billy's Playboys, was a country western band, and they performed live on Taylor, Texas KTAE Radio every morning during the late 1940's. In 1954, Gloria married Paul Burk after Paul served his country in the US Armed Forces. Paul and Gloria have two children, Jimmy Ray, born in 1957 and Jo Ann, born in 1961. Gloria and Paul raised their family in Austin, Texas. She was a hard working woman who held various jobs over the years while keeping house and making a home cooked meal every night. Together, Gloria and Paul joined Redeemer Lutheran Church in 1965 as two of their original church members. There she played on the Redeemer Lutheran Girls slow pitch softball team as a short stop from 1965 through the 1970's. Gloria went to work for the State of Texas, retiring after 22 years from the Texas Railroad Commission. Gloria Burk was a fun, energetic and adventurous woman who enjoyed living life. She was up for anything whether it took place at the beach, listening to live music and dancing, tubing down the river, and watching her grandchildren play sports, as long as she did it with her family. Gloria enjoyed spending time outdoors whether she was cooking, walking five miles every day or working the family gardens. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Leo Matoska. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Paul Burk of Pflugerville; her son, Jimmy Burk and wife Cath of Round Rock; her daughter, Jo Ann and husband Eric Hodgson of Pflugerville; her grandsons, Mason Burk and wife Jenni of Monument, CO, Chase Burk and wife Kristin of Buckholts, Brad Hodgson of Pflugerville, and granddaughter Brandy Hodgson and partner Justin Davis of Pflugerville; and great-grandsons Brayden Burk of Monument, CO, Hunter Hodgson of Austin, and Draven Davis of Pflugerville. She is also survived by her brothers, Harry Matoska and wife Evelyn of Granger, Bill Matoska, Jr of Pflugerville, and her sister, Virginia and husband Bobby Kinser of San Marcos, along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. Memorials may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Hospice Austin, or the Leukemia Foundation. Obituary: Geneva Joyce Bolf Burk went to be with her Lord and Saviour on 8th, 2011 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Geneva was born to Jeffrey Jon Bolf and Albie Kohutek Bolf on 20th, 1936 in Rowena, Texas. Geneva married the love of her life on 19th, 1951. enjoyed 50 years together and stood by each others side until Dales death on 9th, 2001. Geneva partnered with Dale to run several successful businesses during their life together. She loved socializing with her friends and family on the phone. In a way, the phone was her ministry to friends and family as she had a unique way of reaching out to others. She never lost interest in those dear to her despite her own failing health and always ended each call with I love you. Geneva spent the last 5 months of her life with her daughter, Ty, in The Woodlands where she underwent treatment for cancer at MD Anderson. She enjoyed friends and outings including her first ever cruise which she loved. She expressed immense gratitude for all she experienced while there including celebrations with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending nights at Ricos with special friends Ronnie Lunsford and Cheryl Weir. She also formed a special bond with Gloria Hagarty while there. Geneva is survived by her daughter, Linda and husband Chuck of Fort Worth, Texas and her daughter, Ty Davidson of The Woodlands. She is also survived by grandsons, Brandon Davidson and wife, Emily of Spring Texas, Kyle Doty and wife Wanda of Humble, Texas, and Heath Doty and wife Lori of San Angelo, Texas; as well as great-grandchildren; Lauren Davidson, Riley Davidson, Landon Doty, Ava Doty, and Dax Doty. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, and grandson, Shane Doty. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Bolf Swaim, Lester Bolf, Robert Bolf and Lonnie Bolf. service will be on , 11th at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Baptist Church. The visitation will be , 10th 6 - 8 PM at Johnsons . Pallbearers will be Brandon Davidson, Kyle Doty, Heath Doty, Adam Hernandez, Ronnie Lunsford, and Chuck Doty. Special thanks to Peggy Raley and Mary and Adam Hernandez for their vigilant care during Genevas last few days. She had a special admiration and love for her second daughters, Denise Pappas Jackson, Jop Gayle Heflin Hope and Maureen Eustis Harris.
