Obituary: Kathleen Kitty Burchfield age 90 of Lubbock died , 20, 2013. Kitty was born on 25, 1923 in Crosbyton, TX to Edgar and Iva Lee Latham. Her marriage to Marvin Burchie Burchfield was in Wisconsin where he was serving in the US Navy on 11, 1942. She worked for over 30 years at S&H Green Stamp Redemption in Lubbock. her retirement she enjoyed working in her ½ acre yard, and going on road trips with friends and relatives. Kitty was an unselfish person always interested in the lives of others and willing to lend a hand at the drop of a hat. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Burchie in May 2003, her parents, and her brother Ed Latham of Dallas. Kitty is survived by her sister Alice Mize, her sister-in-law Imogene Latham; nieces Shirley (Ronald) Strawn, Sandy (Jack) Bains; nephews Ronnie Mize (Dan Annese), Tim (DeLaurie) Mize; Steve (Joni) Latham, Mike Latham, John (Sheila) Latham; great-niece Tracy Fondren; great-nephews Bryan Bains, Michael (Elisha) Bains, Kevin Bains; Tim Mize Jr, Zachary (Ashlee) Mize, Zane (Kiera) Mize; great-great-niece and nephew Beth and Sean Fondren; great-great-nieces Rylee, Karsee, Aubrey Mize. Although Kitty and Burchie didn have children they were blessed with nieces and nephews who they treated as their own. The family appreciates Bobby and Sue Brown, and Dewayne and Jean Hopkins and others that treasured her friendship. Aunt Kitty was fortunate to have lived her last two years at Promiseland where she was cared for by some remarkable women who treated her with love and respect. We appreciate the care given to her by the nurses and staff at Accolade Hospice. Thank each of you for your devotion to her. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:30 pm on 22, 2013 at Resthaven and Memorial Park. Services will be held in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven on , 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Graveside services will follow. Honorary pallbearers will be her great nephews and great-great nephew. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity or Meals on Wheels. Jerri was born 23, 1942, in Dallas at St. Paul's Hospital. Her father was Ralph B. Burgess, Sr. Her mother was Dorothy Jane Wallace. resided in Carrollton, Texas where they raised their three daughters and one son. Jerri was an active member of the Cross Timbers Community Church in Argyle, Texas. Her interests included family, NASCAR, reading the bible, spending time with family, holiday gatherings and reuniting with her school friends, the Geezers. Obituary: Charles Frederick Burchfield (Fred), age 70, entered into eternal rest on Aug. 1, 2013 in Carrollton, Texas. Fred was born in Dallas , Texas to Barney and Helen Burchfield on 12, 1942. Fred was a dedicated and hard-working man in every aspect of the many work fields he encountered during his lifetime. As a child and early youth he enjoyed all the times he spent with his dad on camping and hunting trips. He loved the outdoors and worked on numerous projects at his county home just outside Canton, Texas. Anything that needed repair or work was never beyond his technology of figuring out how to repair it. In fact, he loved the challenge. He served 6 years in the United States Air Force, 4 of which were in Vietnam. He was wounded in 1963 and 1965 and received 2 Purple Hearts. His love and admiration for family and friends was overwhelming. Each of us considered our time with him as one of our greatest blessings and one, we will never forget. Fred is survived by his wife, Jerri Anne. Fred was extremely loving and proud of his 6 children: Sherry Lynn Lacourse and her husband George of Watauga, Texas; Eric Clement and his wife Sherri of Argyle, Texas; Sharon Ryan and her husband, Tony of Flower Mound, Texas; Terri Fulton and her husband, Mike of Alvarado, Texas; Dale Clement of Corsicana, Texas; and Jamie Calhoun and her husband, Craig of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Fred is also survived by 26 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Rhoton , , 4, 2013 from 2-5 pm. Services will be held , 5, 2013 at 11 am in the Chapel of Rhoton . Interment will take place at DFW National at 1 pm. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the HALO for Freedom warrior Foundation in Freds name. www.haloforfreedom.org/donate.html under the Direction of Rhoton . |
