Obituary: Alma Ruth Burchfield Alma Ruth Burchfield went home to Heaven on 3rd, 2016. She was 89 years old, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long-time member at First Baptist Church Plano and a devoted member of her School class. She loved to travel and garden, and was a favorite among her many nieces and nephews. Alma Ruth was born on 1st, 1926, near Whitewright, Texas, to Joe Reeves and Mabel Fleeman Reeves, one of eleven children. A lifelong resident of Texas, she graduated from Whitewright High School. She was married to Tommie Burchfield on 19, 1944, and they were married for nearly 61 years. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Burchfield, her daughter, Karen MacAleer, and her son, Larry Burchfield. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Ellen Burchfield, grandchildren Jenny and Aaron Elam, Missy and Nathan Boynton, Kathy and AJ Lewton, and Beth Burchfield, and 10 great-grandchildren. |

Burchett was born 27, 1930 to the humble and godly parentage of Joseph Allen and Retha Louise Dennington Burchett in Greenville, TX . One of 12 children, survived by 2 sisters, Betty Kennedy and husband, Clarence of Rockwall, TX and Bonnie Ligon of Forney, TX. He was predeceased by 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Jimmie married Gayle Shields on 11, 1955 in Greenville, TX. She survives after 54 wonderful years. Other survivors include sons and daughters-in-law: Jamey Chris Burchett and wife Jana of Forney, TX; Jeffrey Dean Burchett and wife Deborah of N. Little Rock, AR; Joel Jay Burchett of Mesquite. Four grandchildren: Jodi Burchett, Athens, TX; Jake Burchett , Carrollton, TX; Joseph and Marla Burchett, and their mother Margaret, Forney, TX. He leaves a huge number of nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends. Jimmie served in the U.S. Army from 1947-1950. He was a member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, and a member of Mesquite Lodge 928, Scottish Rite, and Hella Shrine Temple. He was retired from Ford Motor and Lucent Technologies and was a resident of Mesquite since 1956. He was loved by so many OUR LOSS IS HEAVEN S GAIN! In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youth Dep. Of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, 9810 La Prada Drive, Dallas, TX 75228 or Mission East Dallas Clinic, 2914 Oates Drive, Dallas, TX 75228. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on , 6, 2009 at Sparkman/Crane . The celebration service will be at 12:00 p.m. on , 7, 2009, at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Craig Christina, Tracy Dophied, Bryan Houser.
