Obituary: Jerilyn Jeri Mary Gaddis Bradley The kindness in the world has been diminished by the passing of Jeri Bradley on 3, 2015. She always had a smile and welcoming heart for all the people who were lucky enough to be a part of her life and large extended family. Born in Dallas on 31, 1942 to Madeline and Jack Gaddis, Jeri graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School at age 17. She attended SMU until mutual friends introduced her to systems analyst, Bob Bradley, who made an immediate impression with his well-kept apartment. Married on 1, 1961, the early years of their married life involved moves to Beaumont, Sherman, back to Dallas, Austin, and eventually, Round Rock, Bobs hometown, where they raised their family and resided for over 40 years. Jeri spent over two decades at the Board of Accountancy, working as the Executive Directors right-hand person for administrative matters and CPA testing. Her history with the agency was invaluable to new directors. She knew the appropriations bill and the policies and procedures required of state agencies as well as any legislator. She also finished her career with the State Polygraph Board in order to complete her 25 years of State of Texas service. She was also involved in the various activities of her daughter, Margie, and son Scott. Many warm afternoons would find Jeri sitting in the bleachers watching Scott play football and baseball, while she also supported Margies passion for gymnastics at her meets and practices. Upon retirement, Jeri was able to spend more time with her four grandchildren and would often help ferry them from school to their various activities, always being an avid spectator at their sporting events, be it swimming, football or baseball. Her grandchildren spent many sweet afternoons with their Mimi. loved that she loved to take them shopping. What Jeri was most famous for, however, were her Thanksgiving gatherings and cornbread dressing. For over 30 years, Jeri and Bob opened their home to both sides of their families and the Gaddises and the Bradleys converged once a year as one big happy group. Friends and others who had no other family in town were also welcome. Jeri always performed the amazing feat of timing the meal to coincide with halftime of the Cowboys football game. Not only did Jeri make Thanksgiving special for her family, but Christmas as well. Without her, her family will miss spending Christmas morning in her home enjoying each other, opening gifts, and the traditional breakfast casserole. In fact, Jeri was a great cooking resource even after the internet came along. She loved to cook and boasted an impressive collection of cookbooks and cookware. She also enjoyed antiquing and collecting figurines and other objets d'art with her husband during his lifetime. were always looking for a good auction or estate sale. The thrill of a bargain kept them going! Jeri and Bob were two of the original season ticket holders of the Round Rock Express. You could find them in their seats or visiting with their friends at every home game. Jeri was preceded in death by her husband Bob E. Bradley, parents, and sister, Jeffee Kay Palmer. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: daughter, Margie McVey (husband Steve), son, Scott Bradley, grandchildren, Amanda Best (husband Connor), Jason McVey, Shelby Bradley, and Trevor Bradley; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive guests at Cook Walden/Capital Parks funeral home in Pflugerville from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on , 16.
