Obituary: On 14, 2014, John Robert Bozada passed away in San Antonio, Texas. Bobby, as his friends and family knew him, was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 31, 1947. He graduated from Hebbronville High School and Texas Military Institute in San Antonio. He attended San Antonio and returned home to work in the family business, Bozadas Food Mart, alongside his father, Manuel Bozada, and his mother, Isabel Vaello Bozada. In 1975, Bobby married Marinka Nardis Salazar. made their home in Hebbronville and had two children who were his pride and joy--his son, John Robert, and his daughter, Katrina Angela. Bobby supported his wife and children in all their endeavors. He even became Mr. Mom for his children when his wife returned to college. Bobby loved his family above all else; he would often share news and stories about them with his family and friends. He was also very proud of his liquor store, The Cellar, which he built from the ground up. The relationship he developed with his customers was the foundation to his success. Bobby never met a stranger; he loved to visit and chat with every customer that came through his establishment. In the end, he was a good man who took the ordinary clay of his life and worked to mold it and burnish it into a life that was both productive and meaningful. His faith in God was enduring and only grew in the face of illness and adversity. His was an unassuming life, perhaps commonplace in the eyes of others, but the thread that was his life added light, warmth, faith, and love to the tapestry that is our human story. In deference to Bobbys wishes, he will be cremated and his funeral mass and burial will be postponed until his friend and spiritual advisor, Father Patrick Meaney, can return to the United States and officiate the Mass. Therefore, his funeral mass and burial will take place on 16, 2014. The funeral Mass will be officiated at the Catholic Solitudes chapel at their ranch situated ten miles north of Hebbronville at 4:00PM. Burial will take place in Benavides, Texas immediately following the funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers his family requests that donations be made to the ALS organization at www.alsa.org. His family--wife, children, sister, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends will miss him; he touched our lives, left enduring memories, and will reside in our hearts forever. We are thankful that he is now in the company of his mother and father, his brother, Joseph, and all those of his family and friends who preceded him in death. We are happiest that he is whole again, his new body free of disease and pain. |

Obituary: James William Boyter (1923 - 2016) services for James William (Bill) Boyter will be held , May 16, 2016 at 11 am, in the sanctuary of Kisatchie Baptist Church, Kisatchie, Louisiana, with Reverend Ricky Robertson officiating. Burial will follow with a Masonic service in the Kisatchie Church cemetery. are under the direction of Hixson in Leesville. Visitation will be , May 15th, from five pm until nine pm, at Hixson in Leesville. Bill Boyter passed away evening in the Tomball Regional Hospital, Tomball, Texas. He was born in the small logging community of Alco, Vernon parish, 23, 1923. The attending physician sent a bill for twenty-five dollars for his services. Most of his youth was spent in the small community of Kisatchie in Natchitoches parish, finishing high school in 1941. graduation, as was true of many young men of this generation, Bill was enlisted in the US Army to fight in the Second World War. A good part of his service was a member of an artillery unit that supported General Patton in his drive across central Europe. Prior to departure overseas, dad proposed to his high school sweetheart, Addie Kile, and they married the following day. Most would consider this a hasty decision, but their union lasted sixty-seven years, ending with Addies death in , 2010. Mother spent the war as a Western Union manager. Upon Bills return, he became a truck driver, completing thirty years service with Red Ball Motor Freight. Upon retirement, he then began his real passion, farming. Initially, he and Addie raised a variety of food stuff, but soon found success in the sandy hills of west Louisiana as watermelon farmers. Bill became known as the watermelon man, with his melons known throughout the area. Declining health and vision prompted a move to Texas to be near their children, settling in Tomball, just north of Houston. Addie suffered a debilitating illness that necessitated nursing home care, where Bill visited every day. He soon found himself with another label, the man with the hat, observing the custom of his day of wearing a hat. His devotion to Addie drew great admiration from the nursing home staff and residents. Poor health finally won, and he quietly left us evening. He leaves behind two children, Sherri, a resident of Humble, Texas, and Dennis (Judy) in Spring, Texas. There are three grandchildren, Tanya Goode (John), Denise Denny and Chris Denny (Ela). His four great grandchildren were the light of his life, Maya Goode, Levi Goode, William Denny and Louis Denny. There are numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Howard Wells, Douglas Wells, Jerry Dean Warren, Don Warren, Dale Warren and Darren Warren. Special thanks to Candace Brigance and the staff of Serenity Haven Assisted , and the staff of Tomball Regional Medical for the compassion and care extended to Mr. Boyter. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a favorite charity or the Kisatchie Association, 142 Old Kisatchie Road, Provencal, Louisiana 71468 Words of comfort may be shared with the family by visiting our online register at www.hixsonfh.com |
