Obituary: Jeanne Mallett Bowman 23, 1923 - 12, 2010 Jeanne M. Bowman, 87, died quietly on , 12, 2010 at her home in Dallas. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., , 16, 2010 at Oakwood in Waco with Pastor Tim Williams officiating. Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Connally/Compton Directors in Waco prior to the graveside service. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Kenedy at a time to be announced. Jeanne was born 23, 1923 in San Antonio, Texas to Verstell Euell and Nancy (Baucam) Mallett. She moved to Corpus Christi in 1939 where she graduated high school and attended Del Mar . During the war she worked for the Naval Air Station. It was there that she met and married Lt. Cmdr. Frederick Edwin Bowman on 13, 1942. Jeanne was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her six children. In 1972, Mr. and Mrs. Bowman moved to Kenedy. Following a stroke in 2008, she moved to Dallas to be closer to her children. Jeanne was active in many community organizations such as the PTA, Head Start, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. She was instrumental in creating the Kenedy Public Library. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the most important thing to her and she was an active member of First Baptist Church, Corpus Christi and then First Baptist Church, Kenedy. She was a generous woman giving of her time and money to many charitable organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Frederick Edwin Bowman; sons, John David Bowman and Robert Henry Bowman; and sister, Edna Blevins. Those left behind to cherish Jeannes memory are her sons, Frederick William Bowman and wife, Deborah, of Dallas, and Richard Mark Bowman of Houston; daughters, Mary Bowman Campbell and Dr. Nancy Upton, both of Dallas; sister, Nancy Elizabeth Dyer of Riverside, CA; grandchildren, Dr. Wesley Brady and husband, Jeff, Tom Shoptaw and wife, Christina, Carrie Bowman, Ben Bowman, Brett Bowman, Nancy E. Upton, Josh Bowman and Trevor Bowman; great grandchildren, Sam, Savannah, and Bo Brady; niece, Georgia Kornegay and husband, Dean; nephews, Thad Dyer and Steve Dyer; and other relatives and dear friends. Donations may be made to the Jeanne Bowman Endowed Scholarship at Truett Seminary, Baylor University. under the direction of Connally-Compton Directors, Waco, TX. |

Obituary: Services for Jay Bowman, 78, of Lubbock, TX will be held at 1:00 p.m. , May 30, 2015 in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven with Dee Bowman officiating and Nate Fritz assisting. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. He died May 27, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in Lubbock. Jay was born 7, 1936 in Estelline, TX. He married Glenda Hargrove on 24, 1966 in Tucumcari, NM. Jay grew up in Morton, TX. He graduated from ENMU in Portales, NM with his undergraduate degree and received his Masters degree from ACU in Abilene, TX. His first occupation was teaching, but eventually becoming a Church of Christ preacher. He preached in Odessa, Lubbock, Corpus Christi, Abilene and Midland. Jay was a devoted father, husband and grandfather, but above all else a Christian scholar and example to many. Survivors include his wife Glenda Bowman; son, Philip Bowman and wife Jennifer Bowman; grandson, Alex Bowman; brothers, Dee and Norma Bowman and Lowell and Kay Bowman; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Janet was born on 31, 1949 in Madisonville, Texas to Alvin and Dorothy Perry. She was a retired Deputy with the Harris Sheriff's Office. Janet is survived by her husband, Gene Bowman. Janet and Gene met, fell in love, then married on 6, 1999, and lived a very happy, and fulfilling life together for 18 years. enjoyed going dancing, traveling and the Theater. She also loved to work in her garden, and yard. She truly enjoyed cooking for her family, and loved just spending time with family.
